I am not sure, but I thought  Sonar on Mac was abandoned a little while back.

Follow this link which explains the background and limitations, and also leads to the download itself. It will not be developed further.

I had seen this... https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR-Mac-Prototype I was hoping that it was still under development.

Honestly, was never a fan of the idea.  IMHO, the only way a mac port works is if they totally blow sonar up and start from scratch . Sonar is way too mature of a windows based program to produce anything more than a frankenstein monstrosity so crippklede that Logic would laugh. Cakewalk is much better focusing on making a product so good that a swich to mac is unnecessary

I actually have installed it on my macbook pro.  I didn't get on with it - some of the functionality is different to the windows version and you need to deal with the fact that the mac keyboard works in a different enough fashion for it not to be an intuitive swap.  Some things didn't seem to work - i couldn't seem to import wav files into tracks.   I expect I could have got around the isssues in time, but for me the trade off between the effort expended and the benefits weren't enough for me to continue.  If I need to record on the move I can use garage band or logic pro and then export the audio/midi for use in Sonar when I get back to base. Even if they were going to continue to develop it I don't think I would have continued with it, there was always going to differences in the key assignments/menu structures/file locations etc that you take for granted.  If you want a DAW on your mac I'd recommend that you go for something that is so definately different so you know that you are in a different environment and you don't get irritated/confused by the differences between the two flavours of Sonar.

yea, I was just thinking it would be cool to try it, if it was supported. I kind of thought it would have been a process of a code converter that just rendered the code from PC to Mac code then tweak... Like they do with games but it seems that all they did was put Splat into a converter that process in real time using up all the resources.

The limited version for the Mac is actually Sonar Home Studio as far as I'm aware so there will be lots of missing features in any case.
