[Solved] 2017.07 Update: Aim-Assist Leaves Lines in Bus pane
I just installed 2017.07 and found that when I enable aim-assist it plasters lines all over the bus pane. This does not happen in the track pane or any other pane. Only in the bus pane. The lines will disappear quite quickly as the bus pane refreshes but it's extremely distracting to have those ghost lines trailing along behind the aim assist line. Now I have to hide the bus pane if I want to use aim-assist anywhere else which kind of defeats the purpose of the update.

I am definitely not seeing this. Do you have the most recent drivers for your graphics card? Use the drivers from the manufacturer's website rather than those that Microsoft delivers.

I am using a NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 card in a 64-bit Dell Vostro desktop, Win 7, 16 Gb Ram. I used the windows driver manager to check the video driver. Windows reported the driver was up to date. Not satisfied with that, I went to NVIDIA and download & installed the very latest appropriate driver (according to NVIDIA - version 385.28, released this month). It hasn't made a scrap of difference. About thirty ghost lines trail behind the aim assist line in the bus pane, and only in the bus pane. It takes about a second for them to clear. For me, this aim-assist on the bus pane feature is unusable. I if want to display the bus pane I have to disable aim assist or the ghost lines are far too distracting.

Just to rule out the possibility of this being an issue with the GT 640 card, are you able to temporarily use the onboard graphics (if your machine has one) instead of the GT 640?
Also, when you installed the NVidia driver, did you select the option to clear the settings just in case there is an Nvidia setting doing this.

Not seeing this either. Try to set you monitor to the default resolution and test it out again. Many people use different resolutions to zoom desktops, or what ever.

I see this once in a while. Win10pro. Dell laptop. video? It comes and goes. It's just been one Aim assistant line for me and it's stuck between 5th and 8th tracks on the console view but I was in last month as well narrow strip mode. just incase this can help track down the problem..... :)

Thank you promidi and chuckebaby. I tried to use the onboard graphics as promidi suggested but it does not work. If I pull my GeForce card out and boot the bios beeps 6 times and fails (i.e code for 'no graphics'). I had a graphic card when the Dell was shipped so the onboard graphics seem to be permanently disabled. Dell's site says about as much. Apparently there is no bios setting available in my PC to enable it onboard graphics. But... I tried some different screen resolutions as chuckebaby suggested. I have a 16:10 monitor and was running at 1920 x 1200 pixels (the max). When I went to 1680 x 1050 the problem went away completely but I was aghast at having to lower my resolution that much. So, I put it back to 1920 x 1200 and guess what? the problem is still fixed! Changing the resolution and then setting it back again seems to have fixed things. Many thanks to you both!!! (I don't know how to add FIXED to this thread).

This may be related...when I have the resolution set properly on my monitor, sometimes - not all the time - it will "auto-adjust" when Windows boots, which changes the resolution to an incorrect display even though Windows shows the correct resolution. If I choose the wrong resolution and click "revert," then it goes back to the correct resolution, as displayed by Windows. This can also happen after a period of inactivity. It's kind of a PITA and every time there's a Windows update, I hope it will be fixed but so far, no joy.
