[Solved] Downloaded Sound forge 12 - now Magix controls my U Audio Drivers?
seriously I had my Apollo set at a reasonable 64-128 samples. I saw Magix had updated Sound forge to a 64 bit app, meaning I could use My UAD plug ins. Installed. messed around for a while. This morning, I find that in Sonar Preferences, the UAudio drivers are replaced by Magix U Audio. Cannot get latency down.... huh? Seriously. Any advice?
Some people call me Maurice SPLAT Pro lifetime, ADK 6 core 3.6Ghz with 32 GB RAM, SSD 1TB system drive, 3 3TB regular drives for samples, recordings and misc. Behringer X Touch, UAD Apollo Quad. 2 UAD2 Quads PCI (i think - inside the box whatever that is), Console 1. More guitars (40??) and synths (hard and soft) than talent. Zendrum!!!

Space, Yea, Majix does their majix. There is another thread (in software?) about this problem. But if you are using ASIO, try to deselect all drivers and reselect the Apollo's. You can only use one set of drivers in ASIO and it defaults to the last one introduced into the computer. Switch it and it should switch and stick, or that used to work. Who knows what evil Majix has worked today, but all software seems to want to grab control of your computer.
https://soundcloud.com/a-pleasure-dome http://www.bnoir-film.com/ there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Good call AT. That fixed it. You are a life saver. Where are you in Tejas again? I am about 40 miles from the end of I -45 south Joe A =I have used Sound Forge for ages - maybe since SF 5 or earlier. I used to use Wavelab. I found I wanted an audio editor for (a) cleaning up a track and cutting out noise (b) creating different types of outputs - mp3, wav... and Wavelab was overkill. I am curious as to how the Magix ownership is going to work out long run. I bought an amp sim Vandall and loved it, but they never updated it.

FYI, I had the same thing happen to me on my Apollo after installing SF Studio 12 64bit upgrade. I found this little tidbit posted by Jim Roseberry that got rid of the useless Magix driver once and for all. http://forum.cakewalk.com...tudio-12-m3641328.aspx To get rid of the Magix Low Latency ASIO driver: Go into the Registry...HKLM>Software>ASIO - delete the Magix Low Latency ASIO driver entryHKLM>Software>WOW6432Node>ASIO - delete the Magix Low Latency ASIO driver entry Note:If you've got a piece of hardware that functions as an ASIO audio interface (and you know you don't want to use it), you can use this same procedure to eliminate that particular ASIO driver.

Thanks for the heads up on SF Pro. I also have Vegas 11. The upgrades for both are now available from Magix for 199.00 each after you enter your S/N from your current versions. (They still have it listed as SF 11 but it is the update app as it is now 64 bit as you stated.) Vegas upgrade available for that price till 8/25. SF Pro upgrade good till 8/31.

I've just checked the comparison between Sound Forge studio 12 and Sound Forge Pro 11 Studio 12 is 64 bit but not SF Pro. It's still the same version that Sonar had before it moved to Magix. Studio is VST3 compatible while SF Pro isn't. http://www.magix.com/au/s...io/version-comparison/

When I try to upgrade I get offered SF11 Pro for $299 yet I own SF 11 Pro from Sonar as well as from the Samplitude X3 Suite.
It doesn't have anything in it that my current V11 Pro has.
I don't understand this upgrade but it's still called SF11 Pro. Not paying $299 for an upgrade that doesn't seem to exist.

One of the Magix reps recently posted on the Magix forum after the SF Studio 12 64 bit release that SF Pro 12 64 bit is slated for a late 2017 or early 2018 public release. I imagine ACID Pro 8 64 bit will not be far behind.

I called them up and asked for wav64 support in the studio model - they said the Pro version will be out soon.
