Yeah, saw this earlier. It's a little weird because I hadn't watched pretty much ANYTHING with JL in it since I was a kid (aside from maybe quick cameos, interviews, snips of the telethons).

A week or so ago I stumbled across "King of Comedy" (hadn't heard of it before but it was highly rated). Was surprised to see Jerry in it and enjoyed it immensely.

And now he's gone. Just struck me as another one of the freaky deaky coincidences that seem to follow me around.

Not only could he play drums, but he was the fastest gunslinger in Hollywood (old trivia).

He invented a few things too like video assist.  This is where a video camera is setup to show the director what the camera was actually seeing. (1950's)  Later he worked with someone in order to use the same lens as the camera. Splitting the light into two directions.  One for the camera and the other for video assist.  They have been using it ever since.

I may have read somewhere (not entirely sure) that he may have helped in the development of the movie projector gate mechanism which stops the film in the gate for a very short time in order to project the frame.  The gate mechanism is quite something in fact.

Some great performers helped in development of things.  Like Bing Crosby with the microphone.  Les Paul with multitrack tape heads etc..

Passing of a great artist. On the day after Dick Gregory passed.
As someone commented on Mr Gregory's death "Heaven just got funnier"
