Remove Attempt To Load Missing Audio Files
I have missing audio files from a project. They are gone, so I just want X3 to no longer try to load them. How can I do that? Thanks.

Typically this message occurs when you delete audio files from the work folder. I wouldn't get in a habit of doing that. If you need to remove audio files, do it within sonar then Clean the project using the "Clean Audio folder" tool in "Utilities".

Can't. There is other audio on the track that I want to keep.

Then drag that remaining audio to a new track and delete the old one.

I see a missing audio file is this 1: Kontakt 5 3 Kt. st. 1_Kt. st. 1 R_ Stereo (Bounced, 113).wav It's a MIDI track, that I guess I did a bounce on? The track still has multiple clips on it. How do I handle this 1? Thanks.

You can perform a SAVE AS re name the CWP and it will fix the issue. Make a back up of the folder and then delete the original CWP file to tidy up.

Tried that to no avail.

HMM ! If you perform a save as it will only copy what is being used in the edited project? I could be wrong but I'm sure this works. If not I think you can save as a CWB and that strips away unwanted stuff. I've lots of old projects that lost the audio because I moved stuff around before I understood Sonars file system. Often I would find the missing audio in the global audio folder. Try a search using the track name you posted above.

I tried this once and it still looked for those audio files. I believe its because even if its a "Save as" its still the same project properties. jimlua I see a missing audio file is this 1: Kontakt 5 3 Kt. st. 1_Kt. st. 1 R_ Stereo (Bounced, 113).wav It's a MIDI track, that I guess I did a bounce on? The midi track should not be giving you the issues, its the audio track (The Stereo bounce) Delete the Kontakt 5 3 Kt st. 1 R_ Stereo (Bounced, 113).wav track. Then save the project and re open. If there is any content you need out of that bounce track then create a new Audio track / Hold Shift and drag the audio from that track to the newly created audio track. The only other explanation I can think of is it wasn't a bounce down, it was instead a frozen track and you deleted the frozen data by accident. if that's the case, -create a new kontakt synth 5 3 Kt. st. track -drag the midi clips to their new kontakt synth 5 3 Kt. st. track -then delete that old kontakt track.

there is no audio track. I resorted to creating a new MIDI track and dragging the clips. I first tried select All, but that brought along my initial problem. I never deleted or created an Audio track. Thanks.

Glad its all fixed. terminology and explanation is everything when it comes to solving issues. You started your opening post with "" I have missing audio files from a project"" and when I suggested to delete a track you said " There is other audio on the track that I want to keep" Now your saying " I never created an audio track" ? That's just a wee bit confusing right there.

Sorry. I had 2 audio tracks, but there was no clip in either track with the named file Sonar was looking for. In fact when I deleted both audio tracks, Sonar was still looking to load the audio clip, which was odd given I deleted all audio tracks. Thanks.
