I guess timing isn't perfect at times and the update cycle won't fall exactly on a month end. Knowing the Bakers, that is, looking at the last 32 months of releases, I'm sure it won't be too long. We've become so used to every month end getting a new release.

I would rather it be late then to come out on time with a lot of bugs.

They work hard.  If they want to skip a month every now and then that is fine with me.

The new features are not necessarily announced on the first of the month.

I like information:
If late, why not announce it.
if you will skip one moth, why not announce it.

I look forward to the new features because there are some features that I look forward to being adopted. Once that happens I will have little interest in the announcement of new features.

Sonar Platinum, S1 3, FL Studio 12, Cubase 7.5, Komplete 8, Waves Gold, Melodyne Studio 4, Windows 10 - 64bit, GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2, Intel Xeon W3690, 12GB RAM, 23" 10-touch ViewSonic and iPad Air as midi controller, iConnectMIDI2+, FireBox, Shuttle Pro2

I think a lot of us are getting spoiled and don't really appreciate the amount of work that goes into producing an update every single month, for years!   Most software programs get an update maybe every 6 months to a year.
Not only does Cakewalk give us updates every month, but they include new features along with various fixes.
Just the fixes alone is welcome, but some people get upset if there isn't a new feature every month.

There isn't a magical Sonar wizard that can zap out new features every month.  You don't even have to be a programmer to understand the amount of work that's involved in just fixing bugs.  And to churn out new versions every single month, frankly I find that astounding.  I give the bakers my thanks and appreciation.  Anyone who complains that an update is a little late, maybe you should think about getting updates just once or twice a year?!?
That should give you some perspective and maybe some appreciation to the amount of work involved.

And by no means should the bakers have to account for every minute of their day.  They DO keep us informed, but not every second of every day.  We don't need to know when one of them goes to the bathroom or scratches their butt!

The sticky announcement that accompanies a new release tells what's in it.

Spot on with that observation. I used to work in software development till recently and I'd rather stuff was adequately tested prior to deployment and deployed a little less often rather than shipping code half-baked and barely out of beta. I didn't sign up to be a beta tester for Cakewalk thanks.

Added to which I'm not exactly short of features to learn in SPlat as it is without adding new stuff to the list. 😂

Sonar Platinum, Win10 Pro 64-bit, 16Gb RAM, Six-core AMD, Twin SSD. Instruments: Roland A88 and Taylor 314CE all through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4. More ambition than talent.

I tried that and it didn't work.  But it sure made a mess of my monitor!

Bugs are a free added feature!
Without bugs who would then complain.
We want bugs!
We want bugs!
We want bugs!

The 8th release of 2017 arrives in September. What's hard to understand here? There's a reason it's not called the "august update".
