I hope that lizard didn't die...

I'm usually very good with animals - but ya know, I'm living here in Florida..   and I'm not good with reptiles.   Anyways, when I see a lizard in my house, omg, some squirmy little thing, omg, I picked that thing up in bounty and squished it a little so it wouldn't escape, and than I tossed it outside in the garden next to my garage..   honestly, it fell like a rock - hopefully it lived.

Eh. I think they're kind of like snakes where you can "neutralize" them by putting some pressure with your thumb at the base of it's skull (without crushing it's windpipe).

I mean... we're talking gecko sized right, not freaking full grown iguanas or Hila monsters, ya?

If not... I'd go all old school cartoon mom on the bastiges pushing them out the door with a corn broom.

My mum and stepdad dragged me down to FL when I was a tween.

Everything moves down there... like a mild acid trip.

Then you realize that's hundreds of little lizards and/or freakishly large bugs.

I swear I saw this thing that was about the size of a big full grown oak leaf moving around on the ground (amongst a bunch of other leaves and naturey gack). I figure, meh... just wind rustling the leaves.

Nope. HUGE grasshoppery/locust freak of nature. Seriously it was like the size a large kitten/small cat. Like a husk of corn with legs. It was green and freaky lookin' and seemed to realize I was looking at it then kind of spazzed out and disappeared amongst all the other weird moving crap.

Florida?

Nope.

Thinking of reptiles...one my nicest moments:
My daughter was about five when we visited a reptile exhibition. A couple of metres from us there was a young mother with a boy of about the same age as my daughter. By every terrario the mother started the the same:" Look..isn't it frightening...yack..disgusting...it's surely dangerous...aren't you afraid?.." etc.
My daughter listened to it for a few minutes. Then she went to the couple and said loudly:" That's not true! They are not ugly or frightening! They are very beautiful!"

Not one father could be more proud of his offspring!

Anyway, I'm not sorry the Nordic selection of snakes is as limited as it is :o/

The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.
