    Thanks for checking Dan.

I found out that it is related to using local help files. If I uncheck "Always Use Local Help Files" in Preferences, it works as expected. Don't know why it won't open the local help files on my machine.

Pressing F1 opens the help but following your recipe it fails here Michael. with the same conclusion,

If not Local help then help opens in a browser.

To my surprise this bug still exists in the 2017.08 official release.

@Grem: Maybe you should be more specific in the thread title?

And likely will continue to be a problem until the local documentation catches up with the release. It appears the local help is now out of sync with the web-based help.

Correct, this is only an issue when using local help. The new Help > Documentation menu command requires the latest SONAR 2017.08 help, which is now available in C3. Early Access releases typically only include online help.

I just forced an update check in the Command Center and the 2017.08 Local Help is still not available. The file is in my account. Maybe there is a problem with the CCC push.
The 2017.08 local help installer appeared about 10 minutes ago in CCC
As expected 2017.08 local help solved the menu issue with local help. Now I can go back to using the web-based help.
    thanks
