Question about 30th Anniversay CA-X amps for TH3 [Solved]

Can these new CA-X amps work in the full version of TH3, or do they only work in the TH3 Cakewalk edition.
I only have the full version of TH3 installed (I didn't see a reason to have the Cakewalk edition too)
But after installing the CA-X amps, I can't find them anywhere in TH3.
Do I need to reinstall the Cakewalk edition for these amps?

Thanks!

I've wondered about this as well. Try loading one of the CA-X amps in an FX Rack, and see if it loads the appropriate modules. I don't have TH3 full installed, so I couldn't check, but it works fine with TH3 Cakewalk Edition.

I don't see any CA-X amps in the components (Amps) list.  Could they be listed under a different name?

In the TH3 Full Edition, it includes two banks called TH3 Cakewalk and TH3 Cakewalk xtra, but neither of them have any CA-X presets.  I also just updated TH3, it added two additional banks called TH3 Antelope and TH3 Antelope xtra but neither of those banks had them either.  I guess I'll have to reinstall the Cakewalk Edition.

    Thanks anyway Craig!

I found them, but they're not in the actual TH3 plugin (presets), where I would select "Insert Audio FX" from the FX Bin.
Instead they are listed under "Insert FX Chain Presets", which opens a Windows directory, and from their I can choose the 30th Anniversary CA-X Amps. TH3 is just part of a chain of plugins....a lot of Sonnitus plugins in many of them.

First thought:  It sounds like TH3 isn't installed in the directory where the CA-X chain plugin is looking for it.
When I clicked on that same TH3 button, it opened up an instance of the plugin.

See if you can find any settings menu for the CA-X amps modules, to find out if there's a directory setting.
Or click on the Online Info button to see if you can find out what that error code means.

I would try everything else, including asking tech support, before fiddling around with the registry.  There's no undoing any incorrect registry changes.  You don't want to make things worse.   A word of advice from experience!

I believe there was a change last month and TH3 is now downloaded with the core installer. I'd recommend doing the VST reset/rescan in Preferences to make sure SONAR "sees" TH3.

I run full TH3 and got same thing as DeZorganiZator.  I did vst rescan and got same results.  I did not do the reset because I don't want to lose anything and TH3 is otherwise working fine for me.  I do only install the TH3 vst2 dll and not the vst3 dll.  This is due to another problem with Midi program changes not working with vst3 that Overloud has known about for over a year.  I kind of doubt that's the issue though if DeZorganiZator has the same problem unless he is doing as I am.

Thanks  DeZorganiZator for confirming that.  I might give it a try some time.

    30th Anniversary CA-X Amps
I cant find an easy way to insert these into guitar track.
Once I managed through the browser window via drag and drop but it was time consuming to find and I cant remember how I did it--this really should be easy access as with inserting other FX.
The browser window too small to operate and  connect with FX on track---just crazy way to access.

    Please advise

I've been having problems dragging from the browser at times and I don't know why.  But I find if I right click on a track effects bin, Insert FX chain preset and navigate to FX Chain Presets->30th Anniversary CA-X Amps, then I can add them.  They're located physically in "D:\CAKEWALK\CONTENT\SONAR Platinum\FX Chain Presets\30th Anniversary CA-X Amps" on my computer.

Also, related to my other posts above, I did get around to installing the vst3 dll and these FX chains now work with the full TH3 version.  The FX chains load the vst3 plugin which I verified by the vst header.  The sounds are very interesting, useful and pretty cool.
