Pop When Playback Stops - Any Thoughts?

Hi,

I just built a "new" XP DAW and am getting a pop when playback stops.  The system is identical to a prior DAW that also popped, but much less prominently.  The pop is variable, sometimes not bad, sometimes loud.  It is primarily only happening via the DXi channels - DFH Superior to be specific.   I searched forum and noticed there was a feature added somewhat recently to help control the popping (Fade On Stop, or something like that), however that setting is not available in S5.   Does anybody have any advice on cause and/or how I might be able to minimize these pops ???

Thanks,

Sonic

System Details: Dual Core 3Ghz, RME Fireface, Sonar 5PE, identical plugs installed & project imported from prior DAW.

I have also experienced this. Then, it went away. I have great confidence it will return. I don't complain too much about these things since I am running a 2008 PC with Win 7.

Ever since I subscribed to Office 365 Adobe Photoshop has given me headaches. In fact, I spent 3 hours today with Adobe tech reorganizing my system. They still didn't get it to work. I have a bad feeling Sonar will have new problems.

I find more help on this forum than most tech support from other companies.

Sorry I couldn't help you, but I bet one of the other forum members will.

Agree 100%, the members on this forum are wonderfully helpful and intelligent.  Big factor in why I stayed with Sonar.   Though now days I'm getting rather old so it's difficult to keep up with evolving technology, and a result I don't feel very helpful in return.

I would use resplendence latency monitor. Maybe your miss driver has a long deferred procedure call? When you click, move the mouse after it has been inactive, scroll.... Any off these things problematic?

Latency monitor is the place to start.

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.
