I have a project that I want to try out the cymbal replacement feature. The old "DrumTracker" did a fair job of it. I'm hoping this version is much improved and not just a re-purposed piece of code with a new skin.

Yeah, I am jazzed myself. I might get up during the night and see if my serials are there so I can start my download. There will be a whole stinkload of people downloading 240 GB. 240 minus the surround 11.1 for me anyway. Plus we will need to download the new versions of our SDX's. It could be we wont have to get the samples again, just the new software. I do hope to see a bunch of new video's.

That drum replacement feature is really something, isn't it? I can't wait to give it a go.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

I'm starting to do more live drum tracking with my e-set. I don't use cymbal triggers (most drummers hate them for the feel and of course hats articulation). I have the Zildjian Gen16 system with 6 cymbals. 14" hats, 20" Ride, 19" Ride/Crash, 16" Crash, 12" Splash and a 16" China. I have 2 DSPs (the recording "preamp" if you will). The DSPs only have L R panning and L R out. One DSP handles the Hats and Ride. Out hard left and right. That way I have total isolation of those two cymbals on separate audio tracks. The second DSP will output the the 18" Ride/Crash and 16" China hard left. The 16" Crash and 12" Splash will be hard right. After tracking and some simple slip editing and cymbal track separation I will have total isolation of the other 4 cymbals. And thus I will be making use of the cymbal replacement (where desired) especially on the hats/ride. The crashes etc could simply be converted to MIDI. For the most part drummers should be happy with the general layout of the kit and the cymbals. Of course we could adjust cymbal positions to suit them. I have pads for double kick, 4 rack toms, 2 floor toms and a single snare with rim shot.
