CA-X Amp Sim's . Hard Rock Guitar .

Hi All ,

This short clip is a demo song that I created with the intent of playing out of some of the new SONAR CA-X Amp Sim's ..
I used 8 C A amp sims in this clip for all of my guitar work ....there's 30 if I'm not mistaken ..

Here's a screen shot of the guitar playing sections of my demo .

A few people upstairs liked the tones I was getting . I figured since I already have the clip posted on my SoundCloud , I may as well post the clip here on The Songs Forum ...
My signal chain was a direct  Guitar , a guitar cable , and my 2i4 ..running into SONAR straight to the amp sims ...
There's nothing else other than a little EQ and tape sat from the Pro Channel ...

This one is ruff with a Capital R

all the best,

I may work on the tune and develop it some more  .

In it's current state this clip was only an amp sim demo.

I do appreciate your comment .

Deep Purple lives.  Good tones for certain songs for sure. I know a lot of people are going with more expensive sims these days like the pricier Two-Notes stuff, but I liked what I heard from this last POD HD unit too, and it's very cheap.

My ancient sound-card wouldn't know what to do with amp sim plug-ins! It's about as hip as I am.

Hi Bill , it's nice to see you around again . Deep Purple ! Yeah man I wish
I use all kinds of stuff to get my sounds . Hardware , amp sims , pedals , pedal boards and anything else I can scrounge up .
Yes , I think for certain sounds these CA- X Amp Sims can definitely hold their own  ...When using SONAR they certainly sound good and are very workable ....
I hope I live long enough to have a place someday where I can play out of some of my Vintage Amps ...
A few Vintage Fenders and one of my Marshall's I've had for over 30 + years ....
For now Ole Kenny has to use amp sims ...it's all good
nice rapping w you ...

Hi DeeringAmps ! ,  I Thank you for the kind words
Yes ,  Craig must have put a lot of work and effort into these amp sims ...
Like many of the guitar players on this forum I have a large collection of accumulated amp sims from various manufacturers and 3 rd party vendors ..
Depending on what I'm looking to do musically , I can certainly attest to the subjective feeling that Craig's amp sims can certainly hold their own up against what I have dropped some serious coin on amp sim wise .
He did all the hard work I'm glad I had the opportunity to come up with some chords and play around with them to the point of posting a specific sound clip of me using some of the amps ...

thank you ,

all the best ,

Hey Kenny. I've had the same problem most of my life. However, my sister and I inherited a duplex a while back and are sharing it since we're both unmarried right now and have no kids at home. There's enough space out back where I can do it, so I think I'm going to throw up a big garden shed and soundproof it to use for a music room. I'd like to get one of those that looks like a barn but smaller. They're large enough to rehearse a small band in. I've been in very poor health the past decade, but I just had a partial gastrectomy day before yesterday that I hope will fix all my problems. (Actually they took around 3/4 of my stomach. I feel real good already though.) I still have an old 30-watt Laney VC30 for gigging that I haven't turned on in a long time, and I have a little Fender Super Champ XD for practice and recording. I also still have my old V-amp2, but it doesn't sound great on my Tele. Well, you may remember that I was never much of an electric guitar player. I'm 90% acoustic fingerpicker, but I'd still like to play in a band again someday just for kicks.

Kind regards!
Bill

Hi Bill,

Yes, I've seen them sheds .  I have certainly allowed myself to day dream about having one of them if I can ever get out of living in an apt complex ...
It sounds as if you may have a pretty good living situation w your sister if you guys have the space to place one of those on your property and keep it secure ....

I wish you the very best of luck with your heath challenges . I will say a prayer for your successful speedy recovery .
The very fact that you are still using music , Film and your guitar playing as a creative outlet speaks volumes about the true nature of your Spirit

I can easily imagine Neil Young voice over it. Cool riffs too. I was also really blown by CA-X clean presets too.

Windows 10/64, Intel i7 Xeon X6575 3,07GHz, 24Gb RAM, chipset: Intel X58 Express, Kingston SSD 240Gb,  Sonar Platinum , Edirol UA-25.  (Some extra VSTs: PSP almost all/  IK - AT4, ST3, / AAS - all/ TH3 full/ +10dB/ Melodyne Editor). EVE sc205 monitors, Defil Kosmos guitar, blue lava lamp, ashtray.  And there is some great music you may find at: https://soundcloud.com/pawel-jan-1

I was messing around with my old Vamp last night and found that boosting the mids on my mixer at 500K helped tremendously. A lot of the sounds I previously thought were unusable sound very good now and the ones that were already good sound a whole lot better. I think my prayers have been answered. I may never mic an amp again. I don't know why the heck I never thought to try that before. The EQ on the Vamp itself is worthless. Most hardware amp sims I've tried over the years were lacking in bottom end. If you have one, try this. It might work for you too.

I saw your comment on the clean amp sims in Craig's thread .I wasn't sure if that was meant for me or Craig .
Either way Thank you

Show them who's boss? Tis true apparently. I've got no business playing electric guitar anyway. My fat old man pickle fingers are best suited to nylon strings, and that's usually where I put them. And it does wonders for neighbor relations!

Hi there Guys ,

Normally I try my best to comment back on my song  threads within a few days and then go over and listen to peoples tunes that have left a comment ...
I apologize that I have not been able to listen to some of your Music to repay the favor and kindness you have shown me ...
It would be pointless for me to even attempt to listen and leave a comment on your music right now ..
Right now I seem to have the ears of a Van Gogh due to a flu ...
I have been sick & I have some health stuff going on right now in a few areas . With out getting into details , the bulk of what I'm dealing with is working out OK ...

I just need a little more time ,
thanks ,
Kenny

The internet is nothing more than a glorified real time cartoon we all star in.
I play a "Gibson " R 8 Les Paul Cherry Sunburst .
