Perfect Lovers with strings and attempt at mastering.

I've posted this song before, but this time I've changed a lyric, added a little orchestration and attempted a bit of mastering.

    Is this a private track?

Clicking on the link provided doesn't not bring up a track and looking at your SC page I cannot see anything of that name, or even close.

If it is a private track we need the "secret" link.

Strange. Not a private track. Did same as I always do on SC when uploading.
Posted a new link. Still looks like the same address and when I tried it worked.

Yeah, weird that, because the other link works fine now... Must have been a temporary SoundCloud glitch...

I looked at the time of your original post, and around about that time I was in SC to remove the original track because I felt it was a bit bass heavy. I then uploaded a remix with a lighter bass, so perhaps our paths crossed, so to speak.
    Thanks for looking anyways.

    Optimus,

Don't exactly recall the original post but this version sounds really good.   I like your strings and horns for the most part.  Not crazy about the French Horn sound (at 1:36)  Not sure if it is the sound of the instrument or the level.

The rest is all pretty good, thumbs up...

Thanks for thoughts Mark. With the horns I was trying to get a bit of that Glen Campbell epic feel from the 60's, or was it early 70's.

Ed and Mr Grant, thanks for listening and the heads up.

You definitely succeed in capturing that Glen Campbell vibe with your strings and horns.    The arrangement is really good, it is really the sample or the level of the part that sticks out to me, not that it doesn't belong  in the arrangement.   Maybe soak that horn in some more reverb and add a touch of distortion to it to get it to fit in.   If you listen to Wichita Lineman, for example, the French Horn part is very subtle.

In any event, really outstanding work.

I was aware of those pesky horns, but finding a level for them was a struggle. It's a fine line between subtle and not. Remixed them lower now, to a level where they don't jump out.
Sort of, once you hear them you can't unhear them.

    Optimus,

Level sounds good to me in your remix.   Sometimes you can get a good result with horns adding a bit of distortion or an exciter to get them to pop out without cranking up the volume to far.  Good song...

Really nice song and your voice is great and perfect for the tune The mix and the whole Glen Campbell vibe are great IMO.

Thanks for listening geeare, but I can't claim the voice. The lyric and melody, yes, but the vocals belong to a local star Steve Bartel, in whose band I play bass.

Nice. Strings do get to be a bit monotonous for my tastes though. Maybe some automation would help.

Not necessarily my genre, but I really enjoyed it.   Towards the end I forgot I was listening to the songs forum, so I'd consider that a compliment.
