Sonar reverted to demo mode after I canceled monthly membership

Hi! Last week I contacted Cakewalk support due an issue related to some extra updates I made recently.

It happens that in january I canceled my Sonar Professional membership after having paid at least 12 months. Then I subscribed again for more updates and after a few months canceled again.
But on the first day after that Sonar started showing a red box warning asking me to renewal my membership.

On the support one attendant asked me to load Sonar from within CCC, but that didn't work, so he sent my case to the technical team.
I also tried to authorize Sonar offline, but that didn't work either.

Did someone else had this problem or maybe I did something wrong?

Best regards

Roll back to your last paid version before you subscribed again for more updates and cancelled again.

Hi, gustabo! Thanks for your reply!

Yes, I rolled back as you suggested, but unfortunately that didn't work.

    Hi!

I'd like to add some information I sent to Cakewalk support, maybe if someone could tell me if I made something wrong it will be much appreciated!

It occurs that I paid some monthly updates for Sonar Artist on 2015, but I gave up and subscribed for Sonar Professional membership.
So on January 2017 I paid my last of 12 monthly updates and cancelled the membership.

So on March 2017 I subscribed for updates on Sonar Artist but cancelled on the same month.

Again on June 2017 I subscribed for Sonar Professional membership and cancelled on July.
But what I didn’t expect is that Sonar Professional would enter demo mode, because I read some topics on Cakewalk forum, and I thought that wouldn’t occur.

I hope this could help on resolving this issue!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi again!

Sorry for insisting, but I remembered other thing that could be related to my actual Sonar status.

It happens that I noticed Cakewalk Store has new prices, and I browsed the forum and saw it was announced Cakewalk would no longer offer discounts on products.

But then I saw a link to a page on the site that allowed access to the same discounts we had before 2017.
So on July I did updates from this page, as related above.

Maybe this could be related to the issue?

    Hi!
Yesterday I rolled back my Sonar Artist and Professional versions, to the point where I cancelled membership, on December 2016 and January 2017, respectively (Sonar Pro is already own, but it is still on demo mode).

As I paid for more updates, but didn't complete 12 new consecutive updates, I also rolled back other connected products to match the same date above, like Engineering Suite and the 30th anniversary free effects (maybe it could be related?).

I also tried an offline activation after all this, but none had work...

So I'd like to ask how could I do a clean install up to the paid updates?
I've already tried a clean install last week but it installed up to the most recent updates on CCC, which are March 2017 for Sonar Artist and July 2017 for Sonar Professional.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi, again!

I'd like to ask a correlate question about OP issue, because I read a thread on Store forum where Seth Kellog says the following:
"You can stop and start up anytime after the first 12 months have been completed."

I've seen other users saying this and I'd like to ask what does it mean, because and I've seen on My Store Activity, that each time I stop paying for monthly updates, the next one will count from zero.
How could I restore the paid updates to avoid them from starting over?

Also, I've just seen on Support-Email page that Technical Support is only available for L-Phase EQ, L-Phase MB and CA-2A T-Type Leveler Amplifier.
Am I missing something or Sonar should be on the list too?

    Thanks in advance!

The full license to SONAR is granted once you have made 12 consecutive payments using the monthly payment plan.

While it is true there is no requirement to immediately renew, renewals work much the same way as the original purchase. There are two payment plans, a one-time payment in full and a 12 month payment plan. When opting to spread payments over 12 months there is still an expectation/requirement all 12 payments will be made. IOW, SONAR is not sold by the month.

SONAR support is included in the purchase. When a monthly payment plan is stopped so is support.

In addition to being bundled with SONAR, the L-Phase EQ, L-Phase MB and CA-2A T-Type Leveler Amplifier are all sold separately. They have a different support policy.

    Hi, scook!

Thanks for the reply and the informations!

I only regret that if one stops paying during a month payment plan, it will all start over when he begins again. : (

    Anyway thanks for the help!
