[Solved] Possible to edit the fluctuating tempos of a range of measures in tempo map?

I was able to use the AudioSnap feature to extract the average BPM of a song I'd like to do a cover of at 132 BPM. In doing so, Sonar created a tempo map that fluctuates incrementally, back and forth, from down in the 130s, and pushing up toward 134 BPM.

I want to edit the tempo map and make everything 132 so I can build an AD2 drum performance to it at a solid BPM. Then I'll delete my "guide track" and move on with a solid drum foundation. I can change the BPM eighth measure at a time, but that's insanity. There's a ton of tempo data over the course of the song.

My Question: is it possible to select the variable tempo map for the entire song and lock everything to 132 BPM? I can shift/click and select the entire map, but I don't see a way to assign the same tempo to all of it at once.

Thanks for any help!

Once I have everything set so that it will follow the project tempo.  I go to the tempo view and on the right side (not at my DAW now) where the tempos are listed in a tabular view, I simply select the second through the last tempo change and delete them.  Then I set the remaining single tempo in the list at whatever tempo I want the performance to be.  In your case that would be 132.

Is this a help?

Somebody posted a link to this is a similar thread,
So if I'm following you correctly the audio will now speed up and slow down to follow the set tempo?
I am looking at making a midi file out of a live drum recording and I need it to stay at a even tempo. If this works it's brilliant.

I was proud of myself for figuing out that I could use drum replacer on the snare audio track and then just drag the resulting Drum Replacer track to a new midi track and bingo, a perfect midi copy of the real snare track. But  I first need the tempo set properly.

If you have recorded audio tracks and have extracted the tempo so that the project tempo now matches the (varying) tempo of the recorded audio tracks, this method should work for you.

You must ensure that your audio tracks are set to follow the project tempo before you "flatten" the project tempo to a single, consistent tempo using the above procedure.

Later,
Paul
