Staff View?

I've only just started working with the staff view, but one thing that's making it not great IMO is I can't seem to find a way to lay it out like it's on the sheet of paper rather than continuously horizontal like in PRV.  Is there a way I'm missing even after reading through the documents?

Really? There is no way to use Staff View like you'd expect it to work? I mean even Cubase had that ability back in 2000

Welcome to one of Sonar's blind spots. You can format it as a page for printing but not for editing.

Sonar Platinum, Win10 Pro 64-bit, 16Gb RAM, Six-core AMD, Twin SSD. Instruments: Roland A88 and Taylor 314CE all through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4. More ambition than talent.

I use the staff view a lot.  I actually prefer having the horozontal scrolling.  I have found that editing multiple instrument parts on a page format like in Cubase to be more difficult.  It might be good to have a choice in how staff view is displayed but if I had a choice between one or the other I would chose horozontal scrolling for more fluid note entry.   Once a composition is complete it can be printed in page format or exported to a notation program such as Finale or Sibelius.

Digital Performer has the kind of staff view you're referring to.  It's laid out like an letter-size piece of paper, good for scoring piano music, songs and pieces with few instruments.

Sonar's staff view, as you mention, is the continuously scrolling model.  I think it is superior for large-scale orchestrating and arranging for many instruments because of this feature.  It's modeled after a traditional arranger's or orchestrator's  large music paper.

I use Sonar's staff view also for short pieces with few instruments.  I prefer infinite scrolling to Digital Performer's sheet-music model, but you may not.
