[SSSolved!! - Thank you CW!] Air Windows VSTs (GUI-Less plugs) - make em work please.

I know from past threads that I can create an FX Chain to wrap GUIless VST such as the plethora of AirWindows plugs that are being dumped on the scene right now, but that seems like an unnecessary work around for a glaring deficiency.

They work now in the 9-2017 drop!

If I get this they are VST plugs with a minimal GUI?  No GUI no means to make adjustments???

The Air Window VSTs use the native VST host's UI for parameter controls.  Which normally works great (though plain), but SONAR's support for native VST controls is broken.  Cakewalk knows about it, but don't seem to be in any rush to fix it.

While it's not a great solution, some plugin chainers fully support VST native UI and can host the Air Window plugins inside themselves, inside SONAR.  I just tested and DDMF's Metaplugin works just fine and renders the Air Window parameters so you can edit them.  I suspect others will work as well.  Image-Line's Minihost Modular is free and also appears to render the controls correctly.  Not a great solution but workable.

Awesome!  I know this one most likely wasn't high on your lists, but fixing it would be a win.

Oooh I was a so glad to see this but alas, Airwindows plugs in EA 9 still don't look or feel any different than before.

Seems to now work right for me in the 2017.09 EA release.  Before the UI was all double overdrawn and none of the slider controls could be moved.  Now it seems to work.  I'm running a 64 bit plugin though, are you trying a 32 bit plugin?  (trying to guess why it might not be working, the 32 bit plugin runs in the bitbridge which perhaps they didn't fix?)

Maybe I spoke too soon.  The controls do draw right, but draging the sliders don't seem to update the number right.  Single clicking to set the slider does seem to work, but the drag mode isn't quite right.

Mine does not look at all like yours. Yours at least look like the air windows videos.
I'm running 32 bit sonar on 32 bit windows.

When trying to test a couple of the latest AirWindow plugins 32bit versions BitBridge.exe crashes for me every time it goes to scan the plugin with 2017.09 EA.  I think that may be an AirWindows problem though, since the previous/first release of Hombre 32bit doesn't crash SONAR.  Its UI seems to work under the 32-bit BitBridge, though it looks different than the 64 bit version.

But 32-bit ChorusEnsemble, crashes BitBridge when scanning.  The 64-bit works fine in the new 2017.09 EA release.  Though the 64-bit sliders are somewhat broken.

Can you elaborate?  Working fine here.  How are the numbers not updating?
They update for me whether the engine is on/off transport is rolling or not.
Was testing Capacitor and was also able to record/playback automation.
Just tried Hombre and that's ok too.

    Thanks.

Here's a animated GIF of me using Hombre's UI

Things to note, the displayed number doesn't update as I drag right and left.  Sometimes it catches up, but not all that often.  Sometimes when I let off the mouse the number continues to show a value much higher or lower than where the slider ended up.  At one point in the sliding the mouse is far away from where the slider is moving but it moves with the mouse (which was very weird).  And even clicking on a location in the slider wouldn't always set the value to the location.  But I think the main problem is the number doesn't change/update/lock with the slider.

Still this is much better than before, though without a numeric input and the slider action it's very difficult to enter a specific number.

Since it may be a factor, I'm running a very large monitor (31") at 4096x2166 with 100% scaling (yes I love tiny, tiny pixels).  With a nVidia GTX 980ti (latest drivers), a high DPI (1650 CPI) Steelseries mouse and Windows 7 64-bit.

OK found what the difference was.  If the transport is stopped but engine is on, the param changes were not taking effect.  For now roll the transport to hear the param changes in real time.  Next drop should have this fixed.
