Routing between 2 Asio Devices
Hi😄 In my Living Room I have in my PC the Same Card as in my Studio, RME HDSP! I Send the Main Out , SPdif over a cable to a V-100, Digital in. Sometimes I''m working on a Project with Headphones.... On V-100 there are also Outputs 3/4 , but I can't give the SPdif Signal Out to These Outputs.
Would it be possible to Route the Main Out from Sonar to the Second Asio Device V-100?
I have tried virtual Audio cables, but Then I have to Switch in Sonar to this Virtual Out! I warnt to Stay with RME as the Main Asio Card within Sonar! Perhaps any Audio Editor where I can use the Spif Out as Input and V-100 as Output with Armed Record?
Thank you for any Ideas😀 Bassman.

The ASIO specification requires the host use one ASIO driver at a time. Some manufacturers have drivers that aggregate interfaces. I have not heard of a manufacturer supplying a driver that aggregates interfaces made by competitors.

Hi. If you get another RME, you can do this. All the best.

I don't have this setup myself. All I know is that two (or more?) RME AI's can co-exist on the same PC, using the same ASIO drivers. They will appear as two TotalMix windows, where you can route between each of the devices. One of them needs to be set as master clock, if I understand correctly. You could get a Babyface (just an example) to receive multi channel ADAT out from your HDSP.

You can link or daisy chain two asio devices by digital/optical means. You just have to select the correct master clock.
I can daisy chaine my Focusrite LS56 (firewire) with my 18i20 USB using a light pipe connector. I keep the LS56 as the master clock.
Focusrite tipped me off for this one.
You may be able to do the same with your setup, but you may also need to have two linkable devices from the same manufacturer (guessing here).

Hi:) @Zargg The problem are the speakers or the V-100. It can Optical in only give out to 1/2 Main Out, but 1/2 I have reserved for my HiFi Speakers, 3/4 for small Porta Monitors, so I had to switch in Sonar from RME to V-100 to listen, but this driver is not as good to work with as with RME, sometimes it crashes, but: I've bought an old small Digital Mixer with Adat In/Out (Korg 168RC) for less money.... That will solve my complete problems in living room:) Thanks;) Bassman

I do what Joakes does. That works for me. Although I stack them with different outputs.

HI:) My Problem was: All Inputs from the V-100 only go out to Outputs 1/2 directly. I can't change the mani path. For I have calibrated my HiFi Boxes and I have 2 Inputs into the EQ (PC and TV), I have to go over the V-100 to get both connected to the EQ, so my Inputs on V-100: 1/2 - Bass on 1 and a Guitar on 2 3/4 - nothing 5/6 - Receiver - goes out on 1/2 to the HiFi Boxes directly SPdif in - SPDif out RME HDSP Outputs on V-100: 1/2 - EQ - >Amp - > HiFi Boxes 3/4 - Small Tascam Porta Monitor for PC From PC or RME I have only SPdif out and ADAT IN/OUt So from the PC I can give out Music on any channels: Realtek Out V-100 Out 1/2-3/4-5/6 RME SPdif Out RME ADAT Out From Sonar only RME SPdif Out and ADAT Out For I have no ADAT In on V-100, I can not give any Audio to the small Porta Monitors out of Sonar, cause Spdif In on V-100 only goes to Out 1/2! For sure I can switch the cables from 1/2 to 3/4, but that's not comfortable. I wanted to listen to Sonar on Headphones, small Monitors and! calibrated HiFi Boxes sometimes... If I change the whole thing, Monitors from Out 1/2 and HiFi from Out 3/4 I cannot give the TV Receiver Signal (IN 5/6) to the HIFI Boxes, only to the Monitors:( So I can't watch TV! Buying a small digital mixer (just bought, not there yet) will solve my problems at home. Studio is in the house but every time go downstairs into the dark cellar, I'm preferring sometimes to work with daylight:) I think, as long as there are no ASIO Drivers , which let 2 different cards work together, you need a additional mixer to work with Sonar! I don't like working with Linux, but the switching possibilities with Jack I love! Every Input to every Output, doesn't matter which cards you have, why does this not work within windows? Greetz;) Bassman
