SONAR X1 problem

I have been trying to get my Sonar X1 to work for eight montha without success.
When I play my keyboard, the first note sounds then the next few notes are silent then the next note sounds then more silent notes.
Can anybody help,please?

    Try raising the "Prepare Using nnn Millisecond Buffers" setting in SONAR Preferences > MIDI > Playback and Recording from 250 to 500 or 750. It may need to be set higher depending on your system.
