Caution - Cardogan Hall London
I mentioned this in my report on the Big Big Train concert but thought it may be worth a separate post in case anyone not intrested in that thread is considering attending a concert at this venue.
I recommend avoiding the side galleries as you will be unable to see the full width of the stage, this might not be an issue with solo performers or small groups, but with a large band not everyone may be visible.
BBT did manage to sort out sound issues in the gallery eventually but the sound was very poor in the beginning due to the gallery overhanging and obscuring the stacks. Also be aware that some seats could be behind the line of the PA speakers.
The theater is a respected classical music venue, I can't say if these issues affect orchestral performances but if some musicians are obscured by the gallery it could affect the sound balance of the orchestra.
These issues aside its a lovely venue, just plum for the stalls or rear gallery if possible.
