Velcro: The Solution To Everything.

I have this Yamaha DD-65 drum set. For the high hat and kick drum, there were only small foot switches instead of pedals.
Last year I mentioned to my friends that I needed a MIDI bass drum trigger, but not being musicians, the got together and bought me a normal kick drum pedal for Christmas.
To make it work with the simple switch that came with the DD-65, I used sticky Velcro on the back of the switch and attached it to the side of my Squire BP-15 bass amp.
Works great!

I am selling my MIM Fender Stratocaster HSS, red and black. PM for more details.

Music Creator 2003, MC Pro 24, SONAR Home Studio 6 XL, SONAR  X3e, CbB, Focusrite Saffire, not enough space.
Everything is better with pie.

Works great until the bass amp slides away at the gig.

I was buying some new shoes the other day and the salesman asked me if I wanted to try some that were quicker to do up because they had velcro fasteners instead of laces.

I said sure, why knot?

I got yer back, brah!

I have myself suffered the lonely sting of bubblewrap addiction. So much so that some of my crueler (so called) "friends" created a hurtful nickname for me back in the day that has haunted me ever since.

Anyhoo, I've been saying for a while now that I'd post some video guit lessons for everyone when I got the chance and... well some of my film friends came by and I figured I would take the opportunity to do a proper lesson for everyone AND give you, (ThatorEd), a raw version of the new toon I wrote for BBZ.

If we really wail on this one brutha I KNOW we can keep you focused on sobriety.

Sadly though I have not entirely been able to curtail my sailor mouth while publicly speaking so you'll have to excuse my excessive profanities throughout the tutorial.

NSFW but an AWESOME guitar lesson if I do say so myself... and I do!!!

According to Homer Simpson, it's alcohol that's "the cause of - and solution to - all of life's problems".

All my cables are tied up with velcro fasteners. But most important, my lava lamp is held in place by velcro, allowing me to attach it to a mic stand cupholder.

And now as good as Mr. Robot is, it has, at times, some pretty crappy examples of programming in Linux. Might as well just be a bunch of ls -l commands with an occasional tail -100 command thrown in.

I was wondering whether they were using proper programming/hacking techniques. In fact I'd love to hear any of our programming gurus give a critique of Mr. Robot's accuracy.

I watched the first couple seasons but have been saving them up (because I prefer watching a show AFTER it's done or at least has a couple seasons under its belt) and it was cool enough. Kind of like "Fight Club" meets "Hackers" but considering how hyper accurate shows like this can get nowadays I was hoping they were staying true to the reality of THAT side of it.

But I guess (and you'll have to clarify, baps and/or other program hounds who watch MR. Robot) if they are avoiding just putting sheer jibberish on the screen (like ZOMG SCROLLING ONES AND ZEROES!! EVERYBODY PANIC!!!) and showing actual command lines and actions and yadda friggen yadda (I'm also certified in YADDA programming... it's pretty obscure... you've probably never heard of it).

Also seems like the perfect opportunity for them to toss in some programming nerd jokes throughout the series.

Which I could totally get behind even if I would not understand them. In fact that was kind of what I hoped they were doing.

They are showing real Linux commands it's just that they seem kind of lame in context to what they purport to be doing. IMO.

I think I want to learn a whole bunch of programming languages. Like even the ancient and obscure ones.

Not to actually program anything.

Just to write idiotic programming jokes to insert into pop culture.

I can sense Ed furiously typing up a program that once fully loaded flashes the word [REDACTED] on the screen... in monochrome green.
