Lies Telling Lies

This was one of those troubling songs.  I knew what I wanted to say and what it should sound like.  The trouble was after recording I couldn't hear what I was thinking.  I must have trashed at least a half dozen tracks.  It is close enough now but I have listened to too many versions and attempts and now they have all melted together.  I am not sure what this one sounds like.  Therefore, I would appreciate any feedback, comments, crit.'s, etc.

Thanks!!!

This is really good Freddy, possibly my favourite of yours so far. Excellent chorus. and I love those surf-ish guitar fills in the left channel. It certainly doesn't sound like it was a difficult process.

    Freddy

Gotta say the lyrics are right on.

Love the driving beat throughout the song. Kind of reminds me of the Peter Gunn theme (and
that reference dates me some)  Seemed like the vocal was a tad off the beat here and there?

I always enjoy listening to your excellent guitar work.

Freddy, your lyrics are the star of this show, though your singing and guitar playing support the words perfectly.  It has a raw, driving energy that can't be faked, and is very heartfelt.  That's what I like about you the best, you say what you mean and you mean what you say.  The opposite of whomever inspired this song.  Two thumbs up!

    All the best,

Nice tune.  I like the lyrics.  I listened on my studio monitors.  The only crits - I agree with Bjorn, there seems to be times when the vocals don't seem to line up with the beat.  I sense it more during the chorus.  Also, the low end seemed light.   If it helps - When I can't "hear" my tune or can't get my ideas tracked, I just don't listen or work on the song for about two weeks.  Sometimes longer.  A great DAW advantage.

Nice bit of raw sounding Freddy, nicely done, I agree it is a little light in the bottom end but hey it works, thanks for sharing.

Hey Freddie -- this is a cooker -- kept my foot tappin'.  You did a great job on the music -- the sound is right in ya face like it should be on a tune like this.  Vocals were more spot on in the 2nd half of the song -- better phrasing...with just the right touch of disdain.  Good one.  !!

Hi Bjorn.  Thanks for listening and the kind comments.  The Peter Gunn theme is one of my favourite instrumentals of all times  --- it or a resemblance there of can creep into my stuff every once in a while.  I'll check on the vocals.

Hello Makke.  I appreciate your listening to this song and taking the time to comment.  Thanks.

Hey Lynn.  Thanks for the kind comments.  I had a hard time with this song and maybe it was the aggression that I was feeling that came out in the vocals.  Thanks again!!

Hi John.  Thanks very much for your comments.  I will have a listen to the vocals to see if I can capture and fix the problem.  Maybe I have been listening to Jimmy Reed too much ;>)  I have already put aside a couple of songs which I will come back to.  Hopefully, it will work.

Hi Wookiee.  I think that you and John may have hit on what my concern was with this song.  It is a wee bit light on the bottom.  Thanks!

Thanks Allan. I very much appreciate your comments and encouragement.
