Punch In problem

I'm having a strange problem with punch in. I haven't used punch in that much before but I'm quite sure it's not suppose to work this way:

See the now time on the upper take lane. I'm using comping and punch in somehow destroyed the tail of all the other takes. I can't recover them by adjusting clip edges or take lanes. Is this a bug or what? I'm on 08 early release because that's the version I used in the beginning of the current project. Please help.

It's a little hard to figure out what's going on, I'm not seeing a punch-in region anywhere. Also it looks like the "missing" part at the top is at the beginning of the take at the bottom, as if you were using a Comping tool. Sorry, but there's not really enough for me to go on.

Ok, I'll try to fill in. So here's a little bit of background info.

I was making a compilation with a client and there was a small bit that needed to be recorded again. So I used the punch in to fill that part and the region was exactly aligned with the clip below in this picture:

Punch in region = same as the "Record 30" clip (this was the clip we recorded with the punch in feature)

Now some overlapping parts of the other take lanes are showing as "hollow" and I can not restore any data to them no matter what. See:

Even tho I select the other clips for the comp they look like that and have no sound. Is there something I'm totally missing?

If it's grayed out it's probably muted. Select the grayed out track and type K.
