Monitor setup

Hi
I am fairly new to mixing and need to set up my monitor speakers
I am not a techy but does sonar platinum have a signal generator that can be used to set up monitors
I can get a slp app to see when roughly 80db  is reached by each speaker in my home set up.
What do people us in sonar platinum to generate that pink noise.
I have just looked on UTUBE and trying to take it in.

The other thing is,when i use search for answers to a question and go down to answer column with curser the column disappears which gets annoyin.Iahve to give up .The faster i go to the column ,the faster it disappears.

Any help appreciated for my sweet spot!!

All the Best
John, soon up for  GENOS!!

You'll want to use a pink noise sample for your calibration. Specifically, it should be at -20 dBFS if you're following the K standard. You can download the file from Bob Katz' page at digido.com, but you'll need an account there. Alternatively, you can use a noise generator such as the free one from the Meldaproductions free bundle or this freebie.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I use a Behringer Ultracurve digital EQ between my I/O and my speaker amplifier. That unit has a pink noise generator and spectrum analyzer built in.

+1 for the Behringer...does the job quite well.

Edit: just powered the Behri up after a few years of idle sitting in a rack very usused...and it is u/s, no workies no more. The legend of Behri 'quality' strikes again(?)...this was one of the only Behri things I've bought and now will be the last. Bummer.

Final Edit (I hope): the Behri is back to life! The internal power supply connector needed reseating. Guessing there 'may' also be some future dry joint issues eventually too but just wanted to mention the Ultra Curve is alive again so the distrust of Behri was short lived. For now Cheers.
