We get a lot of power cuts here, 40 year old overhead power lines. Got the tail-end of a hurricane heading our way tomorrow, so that'll be a black out for certain. I'm always slightly mystified by the 'residual interweb' in the cables when the router goes down..last week the film I was streaming carried on for about 25-30 seconds after we lost internet.

I think that is the buffered part in the memory of your streaming device or something like that.

anyhoo...
1) My phone actually kept working for quite a while (cable modem phone silliness) so shot the poop with mumzie for a while until it died
2) I got about 10 minutes into Halloween V (which was in my lappy's memory apparently so that was nice)
3) I finished reading a bunch of articles and threads I had open in other tabs (but had rebooted the other day so it wasn't the plethora of crazy person tabalicious gld it usually is in such situations)
4) Then, since I smelled like a pile of used diapers on fire and planned on showering this evening anyway I figured I'd better use up the hot water for that in case the power stayed out for a while (nobody wants a zombie apocalypse companion who smells like a diaper fire on Day 1)
5) Once I was all fresh and clean and the power had yet to come on I just decided to play some unplugged bass. I gotta track the bass for that thingie I keep blathering about so it was a nice refresher
I kind of like practicing bass unplugged. It seems to help figure shniz out.

I did not realize my local power outage had anything to do with an ebola outbreak in revolutionary France...
but it's always nice to learn new things.
