(SOLVED) How do I get SPLAT to FORGET about missing audio files?
Hi guys, anyone know how to re-save a project to forget about missing audio? Every time I launch a project that once had missing audio for whatever reason it wants to look for it.. I can't figure that one out..

Hi. Shouldn't a "save as" new file do that? All the best.

Zargg has it I believe but sometimes I want to keep the same name. I don't have that answer without being in front of my laptop.

SAVE AS does not work guys. Neither does consolidating the audio or even freezing it. It seems to carry that checksum or whatever to the next version. I have been looking for a work-around for a while.

When the error message comes up, do you get the option to search for the "missing" files? I seem to recall that somewhere along that trail you are given the choice to "skip" a file. Maybe that would do the trick for you. Just a thought.

Have you tried removing the track itself that is missing the audio ? I am also very surprised; "save as" to a new name will not remedy the problem. Note: This includes a new audio folder. Its also important to retrace the steps why you are missing the audio. Even if you don't particularly care about the files, knowing where they are missing from helps in the process of deleting redundant tracks.

Chucks answer is what I do. If you save as and the missing tracks are still there, sans the audio, Sonar will continue to look for that audio. Just delete the tracks and save the project.

I guessing that the track(s) in question is a needed part of the project, so can't just delete it. How about exporting it, deleting the original, then re-importing. (That's assuming you can even discover which track(s) has "missing" files.

OK guys, I was doing something so stupid that I am not going to discuss it. My 20 years as a full-time Cakewalk user clearly has had no lasting effect.. Hehehehe.
END OF THREAD. :O)

Mostly what will happen to me is I'll have an older project that was saved back in the dreaded global audio folder days. So the audio is long gone and therefore the track(s) is (are) blank. The other one I get is from when I used to reord at 48 and open in 44.1 the audio is greyed out, these are almost always just bass parts which are easily re done being they are only backing track files. Whole songs I always finish and rarley re vist. I have Sonar back up files of everything so if it was real important I can always find the missing audio.
