Rapture Session (64bit) MIDI Learn not working in Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

MIDI Learn not working in spite of MIDI activity being detected via track. I am using Cubase Pro 9 64bit and an M-Audio Oxygen 49 (3rd Gen) keyboard. Keyboard side is working with plug. Any ideas?

The old 32bit version is working with the same setup in Cubase 8.5 (32bit) on the same machine so this seems to be a VST 64 bit fault. The standalone plug in is also fine.

I would not upgrade to Rapture Pro with this hanging over my head.

Try the standalone RaptureSession_x64.exe, with the same controller.  That should rule out whether it is a DAW host issue or not.  The DAW may be filtering the MIDI CC data.

MIDI learn working fine here on Windows 10 Pro x64, with Rapture Session x64 standalone, as well as with the plugin in several DAW hosts that I tested with.

DAW: CbB; Sonar Platinum, and others ...

Thanks but with respect according to your signature you are not running Cubase Pro 9 64bit. Yes, as I mentioned before it does run in the standalone version. I have checked the VST preferences and CC's are not filtered out. Thanks for that suggestion though.

It's the same in Reason 9.5 (unless you use its own Midi learn facility).

I do not run either of those DAWs, but since MIDI learn does work in Sonar, Reaper, and Tracktion, I would tend to think it is not exclusively a Rapture Session bug.  I missed the note about the standalone, thought you were referring to 32-bit there.

But since this question seems to revolve around the decision to upgrade to Rapture Pro, there is no risk in trying the demo version.  http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/Rapture/Try-Rapture

Hey lxworld,

While I don't have a copy of Cubase Pro 9 here at the moment, I can verify that I've tested the MIDI learn function in Rapture Session (64 bit), as both the standalone as well as a plugin within SONAR Platinum. For a quick test, here are the steps I took:

Launched SONAR and created a new blank project
Using the Add Track button, chose Instrument > Rapture Session
Within Rapture, I went to Pianos and chose A Room Piano
Clicked the Instrument tab, and right clicked on Reverb (top left knob)
Choose MIDI Learn: CC 73, then moved a fader on my Roland A-500 Pro controller
The fader on the keyboard now controls Reverb control within Rapture Session

The standalone followed the same steps, starting with step 3. Results were identical for both the plugin within SONAR, and the standalone.

You may need to check into your device settings within Cubase to ensure your controller is properly set up. It sounds like your results were fine with the standalone, which would also make me lean toward the DAW itself. If we can narrow it down to an issue within Cubase, our team can work on a fix. Let us know if you make any progress just checking through your settings.

Whilst I hear you brother, the reason I think it is something to do with your plugin is that I have countless plugins (including the newest Cakewalk z3ta) that don’t have the same issue. Midi learn works a dream! I have posted the same on the Cubase 9 forums over at Steinberg forums and nobody has come up with anything...

Just tried Rapture Pro Demo in Cubase Pro 9 64bit and no issue with MIDI learn which goes to show this is a MIDI Learn issue with Rapture Session 64bit. Please fix.
