Extremely slow EXPORT AUDIO (solved)

Sonar X1

Eight tracks of audio 2mins in length to export.

Export audio takes 10-15 minutes to Wave File.

Anyway to speed this up?

Now , not to be rude, but how can anybody answer your question. You have given almost zero clues to what and how your doing and with what?  For all we know your working with an Window xp computer with 500MB of ram.
The more detail the quicker and more acurate the answer.

We export projects to local and network-drives with no difference in speed. SDD is a little bit faster then a normal harddisc.
If there is no plugin rendering audio, 8 tracks with 2 minutes should be about 5 to 10 seconds.
Do you export to an USB-Stick or a very slow NAS-Drive??
Do you export to the same disc as the audiodata (project) is saved - and your harddisc is set as an IDE-drive instead of SATA ??? That would be very slow.

Thanx....I'll try exporting to various destinations and see what results I get.
There's no plugins or similar ...nothing.

What are you using for a soundcard ? I typically attribute slow export to plug ins or an Audio card problem.
Also if theres no internet did you make sure Windows updates were done ? I wouldn't be worried about normal security updates, just C++, Visual library's.

Is this a problem that just started or is it something that has been going on for a while ?

Good advice from THambrecht. I have had slower exports when I don't render synths before I export. Also sometimes if you render into a different resolution and bit depth Sonar can take longer. You mentioned you are exporting to wav. Mp3 takes a bit longer.

    Solved

I have two hard drives ...saving to the back up disc works fine and as mentioned goes at about ten seconds

I guess the fault simply was export destination.

    Thanks for all help.
