What is the best for mic mono input instrument or line?
 
My mic is  at4040

    Neither.
     
    You need to plug in to one of the XLR sockets on the back panel.
     
    Once plugged in, you need to engage the +48V phantom power switch

    Just for more information, instrument input is for plugging an electric guitar our bass in directly. They often have an impedance around 450-500 ohm.

    Line input is for the output of your external preamp our compressor. For RME, this tends to be set at 10k ohm.
