Concrete Angel (Cover)

Here is a cover of Concrete Angel by Martina Mcbride. The singer's name is Natalie and she is only 12 years old.
I covered all the instruments on this track. It's the first time I got to use my E-Bow on my guitar. When I listened to the original, I thought; "That sounds like it might be an E-Bow." I grabbed my E-Bow, threw a battery in it and sure enough, That was the sound!
The vocal track will be redone with better pitch and control, as she was suffering with a sore throat and stuffy nose during this take. We are doing a nine-song CD. It's a fun challenge, right now.

Natalie has a pretty voice but you can hear the pitch and control issues.  I would like to hear her when she's "cleared up" as I'm sure she would sound much better.  Your version is well produced and mixed.

Wow, 12 years old, and such a great voice already! I think the voice in the first 2 verses gets drowned by the instruments . . . then we hear her power in the chorus. I hope you will fix the drums, not quite with the groove in the early stages. Look forward to hearing the development of this project of yours, hope you will post more as it goes along.

The vocals are going to be re-sung on this, as she had a cold and was weak and off pitch. As for the drums, I'm not following you on that. They are copied from the original. Are they off time?

If that's her on an off-day, she's going to be a fine singer! Really nice production Scotty.

Nice song, lovely arrangement, and fantastic voice. I look forward to hearing this again once the vocals have been re-recorded.

    Scott,

Very nice production.  Pretty bold taking on Martina McBride with a cold, or without a cold for that matter:)    You can hear the quality in the singer's voice and am looking forward to hearing the update once her cold has passed.

You did a fantastic job on the backing track.  Love the E-Bow...

Thanks for the listens, guys! I'll update once we record the final vocal tracks. Now I need to find the trouble spots in the drums, as I heard from a couple of people that they are off. A man's work is never done! 😬
