How do I import video

Hello, how do I create a music video in Sonar X3? I've tried importing MPEG and MOV videos to new and existing projects but I keep getting this msg "Unable to import video-Unrecognized file format or invalid file. Cannot playback the file. The format is not supported." I've checked out all the tutorials I can find but no luck. I can import pictures but not videos. Any suggestions?

You should be able to import those formats unless there's somthing about your video that is weird

Thanks. I was able to import the "boarding.wmv" from the video tutorial, but still can't import mp4's or mov's. So I downloaded a video converter. Hopefully I can convert everything to wmv's.

When I was using X3 I had this problem a lot. I couldn't use the video right out of the camera, and I never got it straight what format was acceptable to SONAR. In the end I transcoded my video to plain-jane uncompressed AVI (enormous files), imported it and worked on the music in SONAR, mixed audio only, then added the mix to the original video in my video editor. I didn't have time code, and no, I didn't have a sync problem.

Thanks Larry that's was what I was thinking the issue was. If you think working with audio is complicated,,, just try figure out Video.

OP- be vary carfull about which video converter you download,, I found a horror show of potential viruses lurking when you google "free video converters"
    I found a good one , Handbrake
