All my best wishes to the folks at Cakewalk, and to the Cakewalk community. It's been a great ride. Best of luck to everyone and I hope (and trust) you'll all land on your feet. Personally, I'll continue to use Plat until something breaks, while also trying out a few potential substitutes that I can eventually move to. Nothing feels quite at home right now. To be expected I suppose.
Life goes on.... even though lifetime updates do not, apparently. (Peace).

I too appreciate all the hard work you Baker's have put into this fantastic product. Your work on this has been an inspiration for all us to create music....this has opened many musical doors that I never would've have imagined. I sincerely like to thank everyone at Cakewalk and I hope your pastures are much greener for the future.

Cheers and best of luck!!

I echo the previous posts.  Very sad news for the team and Cakewalk.  It's the only DAW I've ever used.  I stared in the early 90s.  Best wishes to all and thanks for a great ride.

I also want to recognize the particular pain Noel and the team must be going through as SW professionals who have devoted YEARS of their careers to an excellent product - the best as far as I know.

As a fellow developer, I too have been through the special hell of being "acquired".  You have no choice in the matter and are forced to make the best out of an incredibly destabilizing and frustrating set of circumstances.  This is especially true considering the fact that Gibson had nothing to do with software and no doubt had no idea what they were getting into when buying Cakewalk.

Also, it must have been tough "fitting into" the Gibson "culture" if reports of its dysfunction are at all accurate.  Leave it to the bean counters and the never ending quest to grow earnings every quarter.  I've been appalled by Gibson's behavior in the market and had decided long ago to never buy a Gibson guitar.  My resolve has been doubled by the Cakewalk decision.  Profit rules all.  Especially galling for a company that caters to artists.

Anyway, thanks again to all who helped create a wonderful product, culture and community.  You will be missed!

Thank you Noel and all the genius CW bakers for loaning your gifted talents in software developments, giving all us musicians, producers, hobbyists, etc., etc., such an awesome platform, a canvass for our musical births and endeavors!
I hope we can remain posted through this and other forums as to your future endeavors, because wherever you are toiling and creating, we want to remain on the cutting edge of your developments and products!
Sincerely hoping and praying for this to be just a glitch and not the end of our beloved CW and CW Team, but a step toward a newer, bigger & better CW future.
Out of the face of adversity, sometimes bigger and better things occur!
I love my Cake, and I want it all!
God Bless you all!

Geeze louise...I was caught halfway flat footed by this catastrophe.   Thanks for the memories and all the hard work and great service and for helping a dim wit like me make a living for lo these past 30 years.  I wish you only the best.  And ol Henry J. can kiss me where I can't reach...till it's soda cracker white.  Bastid.

A special shout out to my ol pal Noel.  Will miss you greatly.  You just keep swingin and your missus keep singin.  Music soothes the troubled soul.

I wish nothing but the best for all of the Cakewalk team. Many of your efforts were pioneering in the field and the competition had to raise their game to keep up. I've been in your shoes. I know what it's like to spend the best of your years working for a company, only to be told you're shutting down for the sake of the big picture. It hurts, and it's not fair.
Talent will rise to the top. I know you'll get to continue your journeys under better circumstances. Don't make any rash decisions while the pain is still fresh.

Regards, John
