That's all, folks! CW says adios....

With the CW announcement earlier today of effectively shutting down their business, I would like to take this opportunity before this community fades away to thank all of you who have been such a great part of my life these past ten years. The collaborations, the arguments, the knowledge-sharing, the good ears for a critical listen....it's been a pleasure.

James,

All the best to you, will miss your Factory YoYo productions for sure.   Hopefully the forum in some form will survive.

In the event it doesn't, I would be curious to know if there are some other like Forums where some of you post your music?  Would be great to keep in touch.

Regards

Dear old Jimmy was one of the very best contributors here IMO. Not just in his effortless sounding style of music, but also in his comments. You could always tell that he really listened before commenting and wasn't just saying any old thing in the hope of getting his own thread bumped in return.

If the fat lady is indeed doing her warm ups then I reckon it's only right to bring Jimmy back for a final curtain call...

Always loved that track.

Oh, and you weren't too bad either

I miss that songs forum....the modern day version probably not so much, but I'd still rather have it than not have it.

I can only add to what you guys have already said. It is a sad day and my electronic music life will be all the poorer without this community, which will sadly drift apart. This year I set out to do the unthinkable (for me at least) of at least one track a week and I will make this target, which is down to this communities support, constructive feedback and criticism. I feel that I have grown as a music producer but again this is down to the community that we have all taken a part in building.

I hope this is not going to be farewell and some mystery benefactor will swoop in at the final curtain to rescue what is a fantastic DAW with a nice workflow.

Take care chaps and hope to see some of you around other music forums.

Seems weird to post this but in case this whole place goes dark sooner than later (hoping it won't), I too want to say thanks to the many songwriters and producers on this song forum. I contributed a lot over the years, not so much for a while now but I have really enjoyed listening and commenting when appropriate to such a wide variety of talented musicians who frequent this place. Life is good when you create music. Doesn't matter the DAW or talent as much as the will to make something out of nothing or embellish something from somewhere else. It's all good.
Thanks to all. Keep on rockin' in the free world.

Thank you for the ears, advice and awesome songs over the years James.
Losing this forum will be a huge bummer.  I basically learned how to mix and record from all the experienced and talented people on this forum.

Hi, Guys,

Just in case the forum does a quick disappearing act, I just want to say thanks and express my sincere gratitude to ALL the members of this forum who were kind enough to take time to listen and provide immensely helpful input, advice, suggestions, knowledge and encouragement over the past 10 years, as well as for sharing some of the best music available anywhere!

I truly consider you guys friends, mentors, colleagues and kind of a dysfunctional family, LOL, and I sincerely hope that if the forum goes away, we can figure out another place to gather with the same type of shared interests and camaraderie that brought all of us here, or at least some way to keep in touch and communicate with each other.

This place has truly been an invaluable tool for learning and improving at all aspects of songwriting, recording and music production, and a more knowledgeable, friendlier group of talented musicians would be hard to find anywhere.

I'm hoping that the forum will continue for a long time, but, just in case, sincere thanks to all, safe travels and best wishes!

Keep in touch, and Keep on Rockin'!
Bob Oister
