Consider this thread a petition to Gibson to figure out a way to keep Cakewalk alive
Whether through reversing the recent decision or cutting Cake loose into the market again so they can be acquired by someone else and/or (preferably) go it alone.

I would also like to point out MANY Cakewalk customers are also Gibson guitar fanatics (myself included).
If you are going to focus on your guitar line consider the ramifications of killing off a DAW company that has been the choice of many of the doods/doodettes who are still willing to shell out a premium for your guits.

I would also like to point out MANY Cakewalk customers are also Gibson guitar fanatics (myself included).
If you are going to focus on your guitar line consider the ramifications of killing off a DAW company that has been the choice of many of the doods/doodettes who are still willing to shell out a premium for your guits.
They're not focusing on guitars.. ''the company’s acquisition strategy that is heavily focused on growth in the global consumer electronics audio business under the Philips brand.''

Well, whatever they are doing they should not be killing off the brand.
Release the code at least and let the community (and hopefully Bakers who poured their heart soul into this beast) handle it.
Heck... see if the Cockos guys will code up a "SONAR" mode (not just a skin). I'd actually pay money for that.
