Email to Gibson

I just sent this to Gibson via their webpage feedback.  If anyone knows the email address of the CEO please advise and we can email directly.  I suggest everyone provide respectful feedback via the same method.

To Whom it May Concern,
I wanted to provide some feedback that I am very unhappy with the way that Gibson handled the closing of Cakewalk recently. I understand that buying, selling, opening and closing businesses is part of life. But the way this was handled is very anti-consumer. Up until a few days ago, there were sales on Sonar and discounts on membership renewals. People who paid for these are not being provided with the service that they paid for.
I kindly request that Gibson considers at least keeping a small crew for bug fixes and customer service issues. There is major concern that a future Windows update will break Sonar with no fix available, or that the servers will suddenly shut down with no way to reauthorize Sonar.
I realize that Sonar is in bad financial straits but this could be easily crowd funded in the worst case scenario. Just check out the Cakewalk Sonar forums to see the interest level.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.

That petition should include "and a unlocked activation file for all products requiring online activation" clause too.

Hi,

I'm not sure that an email ... discussing the forums, and the interest, is a good idea at all ... what they needed was a bunch of folks much more interested in the products and their use, instead of the stupid bantering and arguments that a lot of this board, shows ... and disagreements ... goodness ... and some serious lack of piddle direction, if you ask me.

All in all, the forums have been nice, although the folks themselves, with the exception of folks I can count in my fingers in one hand, leave a bit to be desired. They are not only invisible, they can't even understand the word ... "friends" ... which is something an artistic community needs ... BADLY ... to help proliferate its work.

Maybe what is needed is a French Café ... and some magic ... theater ... music ... film ... or even some invisible band playing ... for us ... CHB would be nice ... at least it was massively different! Even if it died a few years ago ... it still lives ... with some nice music, at least in this head! Certainly not Cakewalk's.

One last thing ... an old friend in the 90's used to play around with Cakewalk a lot in its early days ... and he was sharing a lot of stuff with Sodd Rungreed ... and it was neat to hear about and see, and realize that some new things were happening ... and 20 years later ... who gives a fudge! And Dosd certainly doesn't.

The fate of all geek'ery in music ... sooner or later? Gibson is next operated and run by the wrong folks?

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

Hope you have better luck.  I sent an email to Gibson and all I got was this lousy post card...

On the back it says, "Thank you for contacting Gibson Brands."
