Cubase I think will be better for me than S1.  I wonder if this Cubase offer is 50% off the normal crossgrade ($325) or 50% off the normal price ($545)

that's pretty good news. I'll certainly look at that, as cubase is one of few DAWs I'm looking at. I'm not really sure that I need to move now, but a good crossgrade might motivate me enough.

Sonar Platinum, EWHO/D, Spitfire, Miroslav, Pianoteq, ....,  Kurzweil.

It seems to be the same "Competitive Crossgrade" which was available for Sonar Platinum/Professional users before that announcement. No special crossgrade offer for Sonar users.

Does anyone know if you can pick up a e-licenser at Guitar Center?  I'm going to get the crossgrade, but I'd rather not wait on Amazon to get the licenser.  I can be up and running tomorrow if I can get the dongle at GC.

Can't see it in their online shop. There is no special option for Cakewalk that I can see. For me, it seems to be a toss between Cubase and Studio One. Not being able to find a trial for Cubase doesn't help.

Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

I don't know whether GC has it, but I would imagine yes.

The eLicenser opens up possibilities to get / star using some other nifty plugin effects from other vendors.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

For 24 hours I wrote Steinberg an email, that I need a Trial for Cubase Pro 9.5
---- because of "Cakewalk SONAR" -----.
They answer me, the trial is ready in the next days.
If this Crossgrade is real - they are very fast.

In our special case of digitizing tapes, vinyl ... I'm interested in the very special "offline processing" of selected clips. This is something Studio One cannot do. But SONAR does since over 10 years since it handles audio.

We digitize tapes, vinyl, dat, md ... in broadcast and studio quality for publishers, public institutions and individuals.

European sale right now, but should be in US shops at the beginning of the week because of Thanksgiving.

Yes, they normally carry it.  Of course, a phone call to the store would leave no doubt.

    Wow.
289.- Euro instead of 579.- Euro. That means HALF price for SPLAT user.

I am very tempted by Cubase, but I had problems with it last time I used it which was many years ago admittedly. It was quite unstable. Also, I didn't like Steinberg's tight-fisted attitude - you have to pay for every single update. That's why I ended up with Cakewalk. I'll be sticking with Sonar for now but I may get another DAW to get up to speed with if the price is good.

Isn't that just the standard crossgrade price - that's what I see, but nothing special for Cakewalkers.

hi just tried to post a link to the original thread but it didn't work
So sorry to see Sonar go, my 1st version was Home studio 5 around 1995!
I've always had Sonar running here but I mostly use Cubase Pro these days 9.5 is a great update worth a look
good luck with whatever you choose to use in the future
    cheers

Steinberg is very fast. I will advise to check if there are all the VST instrument included. Two years ago I bought crossgrade version fro  Pro Tools on Sweetwater and VST instruments were only TRIAL version.

I don't think there is a very special price for SPLAT user. Half price is very nice.
This crossgrade price is for SPLAT, ProTools ...
There is nothing more to expect.
