I was shocked but had to remind myself that it's all about the music. I'll learn another tool if I have to (I've already started). It's a shame though because SPLAT has turned into a fantasic DAW.

Look up the "Seven stages of grief", and then read Noel's pinned post at the top of the forum. If you read all the replies, you'll see a classic example of people going through those seven stages of grief. Which include, anger, disbelief, and depression.....among other things.
People LOVE Sonar, and when you lose a "loved one", be it a human or an animal, a car or software, you will feel a sense of grief and loss. In most cases the grief isn't as bad as if you lost someone close to you, but the signs are all there to a various degrees.
Lee Shapirowww.soundclick.com/leeshapiro Welcome BandLab and thank you for giving Cakewalk and Sonar a new lease on life.

All true, except I DID just lose my best friend (Sonar) and the largest part of my family (Forum soon)! Maybe a little sad that is the state of my life, but true...

I know... im still running many out dated programs and with the Sonar power currently at my disposal i will continue to use it until forced to abandon <sigh> it and will be spending more time getting up to speed in using the second rate replacement i must chose. ...but maybe something fantastic will intervene and breathe new life into Sonar? There is always hope!

Well I used the money I received from the death of my parents to buy an awesome Sonar setup......I have no choice but to disable windows updates and use Sonar until my computer dies...and by that time I'm preyin that the cakewalk servers will stay up forever so I can at least re-download sonar onto another computer when I need to
Windows 10, 64 bit, intel core i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50GHZ 2.59GHZ......12 gig ram ....Sonar lifetime updates, presonus audiobox 1818 interface, and beringer UFX1604 mixer interface/control surface...... All round musician, multi-instrumentalist/songwriter.....attempting to produce good music.....started on music creator 6 2014, bought sonar 2015....and now invested in lifetime updates......Learning always!!!!Thanx cakewalk and online forum

you could always buy a few hard drives and do a full windows/Sonar install and store them if window brakes... windows snapshot seems to word with Sonar not so well with waves.... peace!
