Activation? Will this work in the future?

I have a legitimate concern as to reactivating my software in the event of many number of events that might happen in the future, theft/PC Failure/Hard Drive Failure etc.....

Anyway, As of late Sonar Pro has been working perfectly for me since I resolved a few issues I had and I would like to continue using the software as is regardless of what direction the company goes in.

That being said, I've read where the activation SERVERS will be online for a while, some say years etc...

Well, I obviously can't believe that jargon considering how they basically just took the money for nothing road "IN MY OPINION" from the people who purchased the lifetime updates offer.

Either way, I already have an Image backup of my system backed up to my external hard drive "WHICH I KEEP DISCONNECTED" when not in use or on the internet.  That backup has everything I have software wise on it, games, and other softwares.

So today I decided to go ahead and reinstall Windows 10 and start my system over for the simple purpose of making a backup with ALL of my cakewalk software installed and activated. Or that is MUSIC RECORDING SOFTWARE & WINDOWS 10 ONLY!
I am going to make an Image backup of this setup with everything activated so that in the future if I have a reason or need to start over I have my software already activated on an Image backup. Which I plan on taking extra measures for the image backup.

Sorry for the long message and such all. But here is my question, and I am thinking I will hear a resounding "NO IT WILL NOT WORK!".

So I took the time to individually download ALL of the cakewalk installers for every program while reinstalling my PC and saved them "JUST IN CASE".

I have Sonar Pro so I installed it "WITHOUT COMMAND CENTER" and used the OFFLINE activation process. The file that I received, or the RESPONSE file I saved that to my backup hard drive.

My question is, if I need to reinstall Sonar Pro again can I import that RESPONSE file and activate my Sonar Pro OFFLINE if cakewalk servers end up being no more?  Or does it only work ONE TIME?

Also, for the remaining programs on my account like Rapture and a few others, I did the same thing, Offline activation and saved the RESPONSE file, I am just wondering if those work the same way?

At that point I downloaded and installed Cakewalk Command Center and installed the extra's that came with Sonar Pro and some other things from Cakewalk, after doing so I went to the COMMAND CENTER DOWNLOAD folder and Copied those installers to my backup hard drive just incase.

For those of you who might be saying : "Well your being too cautious", all I can say is it never hurts to be prepared. I have intentions on getting another backup hard drive soon JUST IN CASE. I won't use Cloud backup, because I got burned from a site that just shut down without notice and no explanation, ended up losing a lot of master tracks because of that.

Anyway, once again, sorry for the long message, but my Question is "WILL THE RESPONSE FILE FROM CAKEWALK" activate my Sonar Pro and others in the future since I saved it IN THE FUTURE should Cakewalks server's go down for good?

Thanks in advance, and for all of you who purchased the Lifetime Updates, I feel for you, that just ain't right!
I was hoping to purchase, and honestly if I can get the discount price next month I would still purchase Sonar Platinum, that is if I can still purchase it because the extra's are worth it for me even without updates.

Best of luck to all!

Bobby

Well, I guess nobody knows the answer to this question.

I'm thinking the "RESPONSE FILE" or activation file that I got and saved from cakewalk will probably ONLY work with my system AS IT IS. Meaning same hard drive code/same pc mac code/etc............

It was worth taking the time "IF THAT IS THE CASE". But I will never know until I get a real world response to  my question about the OFFLINE ACTIVATION RESPONSE FILE I saved.

Thing is, even if it does only work with MY CURRENT HARD DRIVE and SYSTEM, if my SYSTEM WINDOWS 10 updates then it may not work at that point.

Oh well. I was just trying to make sure that when the Cakewalk servers DO GO DOWN and they will, considering their LIFETIME UPDATE option selling point and how that turned out. I just want to make sure I can still use the software that I paid for and purchased.....

Hey Bobby, there's already a thread discussing this very issue which I think you'll find your answer there.

As I'm new (to this forum anyway), I can't post links but I see someone else has posted the links below my post now.

Good luck.

Similar discussions in these two threads. Hopefully the answer to your question is in one of these:
