Could a host please move the off topic Threads?
I didn't want to have to start a thread and I asked this in my other thread. I just was going to perform my morning routine of looking for anyone asking for help with Sonar but this forum is nothing but threads that belong in either Software or the Coffee house. Could someone please take a few minutes to clean things up a bit. And as I said before= I would like to thank all the hosts for doing a super great job over the last few years. This forum has be mostly spam and idiot free!

Sadly, this "situation" with SONAR's halt has brought out some real wingnuts in the crowd. Seems we're all kindred souls while we're simply discussing our software and how to/why is/ and whatever. Throw emotion, hurt feelings and fear into the mix and you've got some really bizarre posts surfacing. Perhaps we need new categories: 1. "I'm So Sad About SONAR" Posts 2. Conspiracy Theories -"Gibson Is Evil" Posts 3. Head Buried In Sand - "SONAR Forever" Posts 4. _______Sucks! a) Pro Tools b) Studio One c) Cubase d) Macs 5. "I'm Scared and I Need A Hug" Posts 6. "I'm Smarter Than You Idiots And I Know What's Really Going On Here" Posts Feel free to append. PS: For those whose sarcasm radar is defective, this is a joke. Trying to lighten the mood a bit :)

I like option 5. We've been trying to keep on top of things. We'll continue to do our best, that's all I can promise. For anyone else reading this... We will be more strict on posts to this forum than we have been over the past few days. A lot of posts were deliberately allowed to remain here because we knew that if they were moved then a replacement would quickly appear from someone who hadn't looked in the right forum. For a while, allowing conversation was more important than forum tidiness, but that time has now passed. The Sonar forum is for folk requesting help with issues (other than the closure of Cakewalk) and for General Sonar discussion only please. Special cross grade offers posts will also be moved soon. Please continue further cross grade chat and discussions of replacement DAWs in the Software forum.

Sounds like a good logical plan. The membership was in crisis mode for a bit and best to let that play out and then restore some order. Thanks for all you and the team are doing :)

Personally, if Sonar is going to shut down servers and the potential of continued use of SPlat is at risk, I consider that more important than asking how to use the metronome. I think the current situation is by far the most important topic for Sonar and other specific use questions could be searched or a manual read. I've had lots of questions for sure, but this hot topic totally overshadows the smaller items. It's like asking how to install new wiper blades on a car that you can't buy gas for anymore ...even though you have some cans in the shop.

and that's exactly why we've been slow to move them on, but we will be culling some of the chatter.

Trust me, they're not going to the Software forum unless they specifically address software. "Is Studio One's PRV as good as Cubase's?" - OK. "I will never buy another Gibson guitar" - No. The Coffee House crowd, OTOH, should be a prepared for a topic shift away from becan.

I love hugs. If anyone has a hug to spare chuck it my way. Hopefully, this coming week might bring some more details on the wretched news of Cakewalk. Maybe things may calm down a bit then.
Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

I think that is the biggest problem by far -- the information vacuum. Once everyone has a better sense of the lay of the land, we can start moving past the surprise, disappointment and fear, and start planning for what is to come...
