muting part of a drum track

Is it possible to mute some of the drums in a track to develop your sensitivity to a rhythm?  Thanks in advance.  I plan to keep using Sonar as long as I can.

Hi. If you have a release including Drum Replacer, I believe this should be easily doable.
Open drums as Region Fx, and mute the part in w\question.
    Hope it helps.
    All the best.

I have all my drums on the same track.  And I was hoping that I could mute a few  piano roll keys just so I could practice the bd and the hi hat rhythms together to develop a feel for a style.  Is that possible?
