Too many questions... Not enough answers...

Hello all,

I can understand that things must be a total circus at Cakewalk right now, especially with this sudden shutdown happening on a long holiday weekend. I can also understand that it will take time for whoever is left at Cakewalk to sort out exactly what is going to happen next, (regarding the long term Sonar activation/activation server questions that many of us here have), and how things will be dealt with. However, as a long-time customer of Cakewalk, who has used Cakewalk software on and off for nearly two decades, I also have a responsibility to myself to look out for my own interests; not only my investment of time and money in Cakewalk software, but also the nearly two decades of creative work that is mostly dependent on a functional DAW running Sonar.  To just sit back, and hope for the best outcome based on a vague statement is simply not acceptable; nothing less than an official statement from Cakewalk along the lines of, "Yes, we are aware of, and understand, the concerns regarding the activation issue, and a final Sonar patch resolving that issue is under development," will suffice. So, since I am a resident of Massachusetts, and since Cakewalk is/was a business based in Massachusetts, and since the EULA we all agreed to is governed in part by the laws of Massachusetts, I've decided to reach out to Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey's consumer affairs office at some point in the very near future, (most likely by the end of this coming week if there has been no solid official word from Cakewalk), to inquire as to exactly what Cakewalk's/and or Gibson's legal responsibilities under the Sonar license are, along with what our rights as paying customers are. Whatever information I can learn I will be more than happy to share with the Sonar community, wherever that community ends up existing...
