Well I guess that new Mac version of Sonar was a gift in some respects....

  FWIW I switched using Sonar as the main DAW host on my machine after the "Lifetime" buy-in was introduced along with the "Mac" version coming debacle a while back.  Looks like (for me) that was indeed a gift in disguise...  
 
I, however, do feel for those who have stayed on with Cakewalk for so long only to have them close shop. 
 
BTW, there are other very powerful DAWs out there. Best of luck in finding your new one if you choose to.
