What about Sonarians who are not looking at this forum?

Why on Cakewalk web site main page there is no info what happened to Sonar?  Why every Sonarian didn't get email with info?

Probably many people are still not aware what happened just because they were too busy because of their work or life or maybe don't like spend their time to dig into forums?

It is unfair... Additionally maybe they would be also interested in deals which are introduced from competitors... Or more important very kind offer from Overloud to unlock their plugins...

Regards,
Piotr

I don't have the time to find them all.

Maybe we could put together a search and rescue team.

    "1,189,094 registered users"??

Seriously?!  And no one can manage a business profitably with that many?

    Sheesh...

Seems like a company like Izotope could buy Cakewalk for a song, rebrand it, lots of synergy could occur.  Wish I was a young entrepreneur.

    Dear Cakewalk Registered User:

Hi, we're Izotope and just bought your company.  Please send us $100 and we'll send you your choice of 1) Nectar, 2) Neutron, or 3) Ozone.  And we'll use the $100 million to keep SONAR going.  Plus, you'll get more offers like this from time to time.

    Love,
    Izotope

Anyway, we have info on website. Many thanks for that but still not good enough if Cakewalk closing is final.

Many active musicians or engineers don't follow websites. I believe every registered Sonarian should get email from Cakewalk with info (I didn't so it is why I suspect it was not sent at all). Of course it would be hard to reach any person which is not in DB of Cakewalk. Just bought Sonar. But still it would be nice to inform as much users as possible  (at least all registered at Cakewalk). Isn't it?

Last email I got from Cakewalk is about 'Cakewalk store now accepts EUR and GBP'... on 2th November...
Who could predict 2 weeks later Gibson would do such thing :(

Or maybe still there is a little hope for Sonar revival? In such case maybe it is better not to hurry with news about death...

    Piotr

too many tales of registered cw owners/users not getting emails on deals and updates,

why now when there is nobody left would you expect anything? The literally were told last minute to pack up and go home.

If you are a user and wasn't aware of the forums you might live under a rock, that possible.

Quite simple answer, Joe,  because it is most important info. About your comment what can I say. Really you think social media are everything what every engineer, musician or hobbyist needs?

Did you read my sig line? I DON'T do social media nor did my comments belay that.Social media is a wasteland, IMHO.
I don't think this forum is "social media" maybe you do.

Once again, I find it hard to understand how someone can purchase and use cakewalk and NOT know about the forums. You can read the forum without becoming a member and know all the tips, tricks, and demise of cakewalk.

Joe, after my first buy Sonar 7 I didn't know about existence this forum and years after. Call me idiot if you like...
I am not native speaker so maybe word used was not proper but I meant not everybody is digging into forums.

I had many issues with S7 on my PC where no other soft had any problem. I wasn't able to resolve by myself and did what seemed to me most logical. I tried to get from Cakewalk support. But they ignored me completely.  So I was angry and just left Sonar despite lost money and used free programs not such advanced but without strange problems.

At those time I didn't use any forum. No time at all and in fact many doubts after some bad experience with pro forum related to my profession earlier where many talking, guessing, hours spent and still not even closer solving problem.

To be short. I returned at X1, break at X2, back again X3. Many issues sent to support never answered but I discovered this forum and these all kind people helping each other so I learned here how to solve many issues.

So with my history I understand people who just don't spend time at any forums so can be unaware here is a place where one can learn a lot and in fact get help.

1,188,024 of them are probably aliases of Bapu, Bobby or Dr Whatsisface.

Email "to all" would still get them most of the way there regardless of who is really who, but then again sending emails to all of their customers was never a CW strong point.
