Fire Sale

Are we to expect one as the company cannot realistically continue to charge the full price for something that is unsupported and their actions of late will clearly drive loyal users away to one of its competitors? Surely a dramatic discount across the board is what is needed to restore some confidence. I will find it hard to justify upgrading in the knowledge there is no full support for the software.

It would be odd for them not to sell the software at knock down prices - it would be a win win situation for all concerned.

Try to add something to the cart and it will take you to the announcement.

That's not very good customer service - its basically saying 'sod you lot' if they cant be bothered to amend the website. Anyone from Cakewalk reading this got anything to do with this poor level of service?

do you realize that Cakewalk is a company of Gibson and Gibson shut down the division?  most of the cakewalk employees have been fired and the ones left there are not really concerned with your perception of the website.

This wasn't a dig at the employees who had unfortunately been sacked. Someone is still responsible for the website that is still up and running and allowing buyers to get to the paying stage before being alerted that the software is no longer available. If it is now totally the responsibility of Gibson then they obviously dont care about past, present or potential customers.

As an aside, they have made a right mess of the Les Paul market. There are too many choices available, too many sizes, too many colours, too many names. Too over commercialised.

why didn't you get computer music , hhmm 2 months back. with home studio on.. that was a really cheap upgrade ;-)

I'd like to upgrade to the last sonar, but their prices were stupid (i.e. more than full price of rival daws £400+).

they can't take sales.. it's more to do with the financial quarter of the year.

it's not the best end of the year for the staff, and I'm hoping they got jobs elsewhere if it's "done with".
