Turn Off Fault Reporter

Is there any way to turn off this problem reporter & notifier in Plat now that it's defunct?

I checked prefs. & the 'use local help' is greyed out, no option available. (the 'Always Use Offline Help' as in previous versions.)
Is there a registry tweak I can modify?

I believe "Always Use Local Help" gets greyed out when SONAR cannot find the SONAR.chm. Try running the SONAR Local Documentation installer.  The SONAR.chm must be in the folder with the SONAR program.

I literally activated the local help last night after using online for ever,  so it is still there to be chosen for sure. scook is most likely correct that the .chm file needs to be downloaded first.

Thanks scook,

I ran Local Documentation installer again & it's back.
Now I just have to wait until Sonar crashes to see what will happen now that it's checked.

mucho appreciado.

The fault reporter specifically is an exe file in the main directory. You can disable it by renaming the extension, but IIRC it is reinstalled with each update.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

I had Sonar do it's typical crash after I save and try and close on my W10 DAW. Does this almost every day. I'm writing them down now to keep a record. But it's no point telling it to submitt the fault report now for sure. There's also this you might as well disable

Thanks,  found the Fault Reporter exe.. never looked in here much before. I also found Landr Export, CakewalkSoundcloud & CakeGobblerSVC exes.
Safe to delete any of these or better keeping just in case?

It really depends if you use those. Gobbler is defunct to my knowledge. Rather than delete (just in case you want to turn them back on someday), simply change the ".exe" to ".OLD" or ."BAK" so you can change it back easily. If you have to re-install to restore those, you risk other program changes, so keep modifications simple.

I guess under FILE/ADVANCED you could also disable "show update notifications" (also where use local help is selected)

Im not sure if we should disable  "show startup screen"? as that seems to connect to your account showing your welcome "name",  if at some point when servers are shut down if this would cause any start up issues?
