I would like to share my exprience on this error
UNABLE TO REGISTER DLL/OCX:REEGSVR FAILED
PROGRAMFILES\CAKEWALK\SHARED PLUGIN\SONITUS
I could not open my sonitus VSt
This happen after i roll back my windows update.
Please becareful guys.
My interface focusrite uses firewire,after windows updated,my firewire driver changed,
Its supposed to be in LEGACY,i did not this driver change at first,so i quickly rollback windows update,
in hope to get all old setting back.It did not happen on the driver,i select it manually and interface was working fine.
Unfourtunately,cakewalk sonitus files could not be registered.I had send cakewalk a report,but there was no feedback.
My working colleague,was a It guy,he took 3days to find the correct miscrosoft visual c++ file,and try to install sonar in safe mode,it did not work
Finally we reinstaled the windows OS,and all other software again,and its workable.

Solution: Reinstaled the windows OS

    Solution: Reinstaled the windows OS

    1) There are several Sonutus files there, f.e. SonitusFXCompressor.dll
    2) running http://www.dependencywalker.com/ (or any newer version, this one trigger many errors in detection since Win7, but still work for the purpose) shows MSVCP120.dll. Which is in turn clear indication of VS 2013 runtime.

    All that can be found in 5 min (including googling, downloading and running).
    I am not sure what your colleague was doing 3 days...
     
    Sonar comes with all runtimes, but under some conditions something installed can be corrupted. Deinstall such runtime and let Sonar install it again (or installing the latest version of it manually) help with hight probability.

    Focusrite no longer tell us to use the legacy drivers.
