Sonar paid monthly.

Hi guys. Today Sonar is showing me a message that it will go to demo mode in two weeks. I've started my payments in July. It will not renew my subscription? I need a confirmation that I need to find a new DAW in this time. There is a little mess in news about Sonar's current state.

Thank You.

According to the FAQ in the Cakewalk Announcement if you were currently on a pay to own plan your account should have been unlocked so that you can continue using Sonar. I would try sending Cakewalk an email.

    What about monthly payment plans?
We have officially closed our web store, and any monthly payment plans will be automatically discontinued. If you started a monthly plan within the last year, your statement will reflect either Cleverbridge or Digital River as the merchant. If you have trouble finding this information, or have any outstanding payment questions, please contact Cakewalk support. If you are on a rent-to-own plan and not have made 12 payments we have unlocked authorization so you can continue to use SONAR without interruption.

I don't think it could work that way. Why should someone get a full unlocked version after they only paid for a fraction? I personally think that it was a risk people took by deciding  to only pay by the month.

I would contact support as soon as possible.
Cakewalk has said users paying by month will receive Sonar unlocked.

Lets establish a few things first:

    - How did you install the software ?
    - Using Command center ?
    - Using offline authorization ?

Definitely try to contact Cakewalk Dagget. They have stated in black and white that is how it will work. You may have slipped through the cracks, as others have posted that their status changed to owned.

Because it is the decent thing to do given this hot mess. The penalty for monthly payments is that you pay a little more, not that you may be left high and dry with nothing for your money through no fault or decision of your own.Why should they lose the money they have paid in so far? It is a compromise really. I suspect many in this situation would prefer a return refund and to spend their money on something with at least a shot at longevity.

I've just noticed an email with "We have recently canceled the following subscription." in it. No explanation. I try to contact the support. Maybe if somebody can cancel my subscription, maybe the other one can tell me what's going on.

You skipped right over my questions.

Now It doesn't really matter to me, your the one in demo mode. But you might want to establish a few things first-
How did you install the software ?

If your not using Command center how are you authorizing ?
You need to connect through Command center to authorize or re export an offline authorization request.

I'm sorry Chuckebaby. I didn't mean to ignore You. I installed it using command center ( 3 month ago ). Everything seemed to be as usual. Now I've checked My Products on the site and my Registration Codes are N/A.

So basically I guess the bottom line is you rented it for a few months. Too bad there wasn't an option to let people have an unlocked version at a discount, but maybe there are issues with selling through the online store after a company has been closed.

This can only be resolved by Cakewalk support. FWIW, N/A in the Registration Code column is normal.

    No problem man.
the N/A is totally normal (it says the same for me too). What you want to do is click on Sonar on your My products page and then look for:

Hi! I have a similar situation of OP, but in my case I paid for 2 monthly updates and stopped paying on August 2017 (*).

It occurs that recently I contacted support again and a Cakewalk attendant said I could buy Sonar Professional from other retailers, but I still haven't found any.
Could you guys give me some help on finding online retailers?

    Thanks in advance!

(*) Cakewalk support helped me giving attention to my case, but they couldn't avoid my 12th paid update from reverting to demo mode.

Hi! Sorry for insisting, but has anyone seen online retailers which are selling Sonar 2017?

I'm using Sonar 2017.07  but it is on demo mode, and I have to use Sonar X3 for saving projects. It's not bad at all but if I could buy an official update it would be great!

Please note I'm only asking this because I read people have seen online retailers selling Sonar.

    Thanks!

Seen it on Amazon and eBay but not sure what they will ship and this may not be a good way forward. Oddly Amazon thinks that I'm interested in DAWs because of some recent searches and thinks that I should consider Sonar.
