Well... let's not be hasty now. I've got a rep to uphold.

BTW... I was gonna post this before my browser barfed all over itself...

Across This Land - Stompin Tom Connors live in Toronto

It's... uh... kind of offensive at points by todays standards but offensive in such a lovingly polite and inoffensive way only ole Tom could pull off.

I've posted snippets of this concert before but this is the first time I think I've actually found the whole, unedited special... which was recorded three years before I was born.

at least I think it's unedited.

There's a kid playing fiddle with a baseball bat instead of a bow in it (amongst other things) and RIPPING IT bluegrass style.

Hardcore.

Oh man, the Horsehoe Tavern. I saw Helix play there way back in the day...I think. My memory of those days are a bit hazy...

Ya, man. That's the OLD school Shoe. Looked totally different by the time I landed in town.

I was telling my mom about some of these vids from the Shoe recently and she ups and tells me a story about her and all her girlfriends from the car plant decided to play hookie from work and drive to TO to go to the Shoe to see some band play.

They almost got themselves fired.

I saw Helix in 1982 or '83 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  They were opening for Marshall Crenshaw, a small concert in a high school auditorium!
