Bugera V22 Infinium amplifier Connecting a second speaker cab

Hi, I want to connect a second speaker cab to my V22 but want to be sure I have the ohm's correct.

The cab I want to connect is my Fender HotRod Deluxe cab. There are two speaker jacks and the description regarding them is: 2- 8ohm jacks parallel 40watts 4ohm total.

My V22 description is: amplifier out 22 watts 4ohm Minimum speaker impedance jacks parallel.

The vV22 impedance is set to 8ohms with it's internal speaker. If I connect the Fender speaker do I set the V22 for 4ohms? Also can the V22 handle the Fender 40watt speaker?

I appreciate your help. I don't want to damage my amp.

    I don't know the answer you're looking for but here's what I did... I bought the Bugera extension cabinet with ONE 12" speaker, connecting that to the V22 and set the ohm selector to 4 ohms and everything works fine and sounds great. Hooking up to a different speaker configuration may cause problems, especially if the Hot Rod gets turned on accidentally, if it's still connected.

    Thanks for that info. My Fender amp won't be plugged in so no chance of it turning on by accident.
    I guess it's safe to say I will need to set the ohms to 4 based on your two 8ohm speaker setup. What is the wattage of your second speaker? Is it the same as the amps speaker?

    yes the Bugera can handle the 40 W speaker. If you have too much amp watts you can hurt the speaker but watts count in the speaker will have no effect on amp. higher speaker watts will give you more headroom lower can give you more break up.
