Using + key to advance MIDI bank?
In older versions of Sonar, I recall the (numberpad) + key advanced the MIDI Bank (B) sequentially....now it seems to pop up a volume slider. Can anyone suggets how I can get the older operation back? Had a look in key bindings but could not see the option. Thanks

Have you tried to assign a key binding to do what you want? (Just a thought)

Go to Preferences>keyboard Shortcuts. Search for "Bank" Select "Insert | Bank/Patch Change Select Locate Key "Num+" Click "Bind" Thanks for this question. I didn't know Sonar could do this.

Wow, thanks soens - I looked for ages for that bank, didn't think to use search, good tip! Ahh, that is to insert a bank patch change. What I am after is to move the bank selected (under the track view pane symbol B. What I am talking about is in older versions one used to be able to select the next/previous bank in the definitions being used with the + or - keys in the numberpad.

In the Inspector, be sure to first click on the Bank field. Then you can +/- to increment/decrement the bank. Either +/- on the keypad, or on the keyboard. Works for me in Splat and 8.5.3.

Thanks, but no it doesn't. All I get is a volume slider popup, nothing changes in the bank box, even if it is the focus. Somehow that control has been re-mapped to pop up a volume slider but I can find no way to alter it.

Pretty strange. I assume you've already checked for possible unexpected keybindings for + and Num+. (There's an option to hit a key combo and see if it matches any bindings). Other than that, I'm stumped.

SONAR does not have popup volume control. Some other application grabbing the + key. Maybe a program in the notification area.

thanks scook - I'll check that out...not sure how it over-rides Splat though, I would have thought that Splat would take control - hahaha but it IS windows Oh and while you're here, do you have any thoughts on the OP? All I can get it to do is insert a bank/patch change...I know it USED to advance a bank (or patch) depending on which box was in focus. It was how ai zipped though lots of patch presets when creating MIDI files. Simply pressed the + key to move up one without needing to open the patch or bank drop down lists. EDIT: Okay it is only when Splat is open it does this. No other app or program on the PC pops up a volume slider when the + key is pressed....

That looks like your Windows volume control. Make sure Sonar has keyboad control.

yeah that's what I thought it was, but outside of Splat - it does not appear when pressing the + key!! I'll hunt around on google and see what I can find. What is surprising is it is actually "over-riding" splat settings!

Yeah, as was written there, I had already checked for those. It is a weird issue for sure. I have found another way which is to use shift and the +/= and _ /- keys (above the bracket key). However I do KNOW that the + and - keys on the number pad used to work exactly the same way (and with no combination needed)
